I just had an interesting idea of a Luck skill. This could be a viable alternative to Wisdom or Hevean's Gift. Basically, the skill would slightly influence the random elements to your favour providing combat bonus and better item drops.

Luck

You have the uncanny ability to influence events to your favour.

Level 1: Offence and Defence are raised by 1%. You are slightly more likely to find better items.
Level 2: Offence and Defence are raised by 2%. You are somewhat more likely to find better items.
Level 3: Offence and Defence are raised by 3%. You are moderately more likely to find better items.
Level 4: Offence and Defence are raised by 4%. You are quite more likely to find better items.
Level 5: Offence and Defence are raised by 5%. You are much more likely to find better items.

1%-5% of offense & defense, are u sure it's not under-powered? luck should've increased more of those albeit in a slightly random manner, i feel.

any percentage in finding stuff?

this offense means chances to hit as well as making higher damage, is it? including luck in the game factor will mean re-balancing so it's kind of hardto imagine how it will work unless we use DD as reference.

Yeah... I think that raising Luck would be enabled in 2. But what kind it would be? I would prefer that it would be raising passive skill that can be both raised with skill points and if u don't want to raise it would come little up ´with each level of character... Or should it be like in D2 that it would be
like % and the best possible % would be somekind like in D2 that it would be something like 900 and this would mean that u get 900 times better drops...

900% luck on top of standard levelling up bonuses? I think that's a bit overkill! I was just thinking of Luck as an additional bonus to slide events to your favour, not provide uncanny God-like ability. Although I agree that my first thought might be a little under-effective, much like Wisdom was.

I do see what you're saying, though. Personally, I don't think Luck should rise automatically. You already have the Agility attribute to raise your Offence and Defence and just because you've worked at rising a level doesn't really make you any luckier. I think Luck would work as a skill. I see luck as trusting your instincts or being guided by a higher force. By developing this skill, you are learning to trust your instincts or guide to lead you to glory.

That's GOOD one... But I still think that there should be somekind of alternate
to this LUCK thing... Like in D2 even if u had 900mf the chances to get the best bow in the game was only 1/500000 so that isn't even enough... But LUCK
would be best in skill kind of thingie...

I see what you mean. That's why I didn't put numerical modifiers on the "better items" part of the skill. I really have no idea how much is better! And saying that you have a "900% better chance of finding good items" doesn't really mean anything if you don't know the figures to begin with. What I had in mind is that the net-worth of items you find would be worth a certain percentage more. Because items are generated randomly you can easily add another bonus worth an extra 10% in gold. So all items are worth more in use and gold!

And now I understand why you want it to rise automatically with levels. That way better items appear later in the game instead of right at the start. Good thinking! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
