much like the sword in the last post - http://www.speakeasy.org/~legolas357/sword.jpgwith the tremendous attributes, 4 charms and then frost, stun and poison all at one time - this sword was nearly unfair.

i would have to say that the swords both kag and i had are the best i've seen. both are one handed so shield is still an option, both have great charms, both have lots of stats, and both have freeze AND poison. things don't move when hit like that. the truth is however, that i seldom use(d) my sword. my weapon of choice was my 'machine gun' bow. http://www.speakeasy.org/~legolas357/bow.jpgwith this, i could have a lot of fun breaking bad guys, but also had to be aware of MY hit points and mana. bow doing A LOT of damage - http://www.speakeasy.org/~legolas357/machinegunlies.jpghere you can see, what(?) 30 overlords? http://www.speakeasy.org/~legolas357/bowlies.jpghere using the 'divine' lightning - http://www.speakeasy.org/~legolas357/lightninglies.jpgand of course, the sword (please note, this is WITHOUT having to take any potions...not too fair. truly, i can't be hurt) - http://www.speakeasy.org/~legolas357/swordlies.jpg

Wonderful pics - specially the mass demon ones Kiya though I still think Hellfighter's Noble Sword is better (link is in post above:
Noble Sword: charm ability 5 damage 71-100 +8 int. +10 const. +30 vitality speed 2 35 to hit recup.0 Mana drain 5 poison dam. 5 stun 2 fire dam. 2

i would agree it's great. the only reason i'd choose the others is becasue of having BOTH poison and freeze. two ways to immobilize an opponent.

Stun had probs in earlier versions and can still have if you kill innocent NPC. your sword is excellent, Lego - stunned sometimes were dead and didn't fall, so looting was impossible (an unforgivable bug in my eyes ) Kiya <greedy>

i would agree it's great. the only reason i'd choose the others is becasue of having BOTH poison and freeze. two ways to immobilize an opponent. Why do you feel like you need that crap? Isn't the game easy enough? (I'm referring to Freeze, since poison is quite useless.) Freeze would work on a weapon with very low damage, but otherwise I find it VERY annoying to have. All you do is run around like an idiot freezing monsters, nothing even gets to touch you. Why would anyone want to fight a statue? I don't get it.

good evening bundy... so, are you in the habit of extrapolating what you wish and making knee-jerk comments, or was this a one time thing? the question posed in the thread was clearly "What's the best One Handed Sword you guys ever found?". it would be completely within the realm of rational thought to believe that since we're talking about a killing weapon, that the term 'best' would refer to 'most effective'. all these swords definitely fill this criteria. additionally, you'd do yourself quite well by simply reading about 8 inches up the ladder in the thread (2 posts) where it's clearly stated "the truth is however, that i seldom use(d) my sword." (written by me as well). this along with my rationale for NOT using the sword. use your eyes. they will seldom get you in trouble..... oh, and by-the-way. poison is far from useless in this game.

I'm sorry, I was under the impression that "best" refers to whatever you like most (for whatever reason). "Most effective at killing monsters" isn't mentioned anywhere. And even if it were, it's the damage of the weapon that determines its effectiveness, not whether it has Freeze or not. Freeze only helps prevent you from getting hit. I would consider a higher damage weapon with no freeze to be more effective than a lower damage weapon with freeze. Yes I read your comment about the bow, but I don't see how it changes anything. Let me put it this way, why do you think that a weapon with freeze is "more effective at killing" than the same weapon without freeze?

dudes, all the things u can do in the forum, opinions are free to be voiced & heard but NEVER expect for it to be accepted. so if u don't like how the other dude does his thing, let it go. besides, issues of LAME this or LAME that isn't what this thread is about.
& please try to avoid saying things like 'freeze makes the game too easy, stoopid!" u know u get better reaction if u're friendlier.

Figure I must have got lucky, early on in the game, while I was still working on a level 4 warrior, I used to go out and hunt Orcs outside aleroth, and one day this silly Orc that I killed dropped a "Razor Sharp sabre of draining" I tell you once I got the restoration spell, it just got too easy, I believe I left my Int on 15 till level 25, cause I never ran out of mana, I finally decided to go for the Holy Sword and that too came up with mana drain so really I have been in seventh heaven. On a side note I have tried to get the same sword while playing a mage, but .... you guessed it, no hope ( funny now I think of it while I was an amazon in D2 I never found any good bows, found heaps of them while playing a paladin though, go and figure :0 )

Wow, this is reviving a really old thread. Great to see what my initial question was. First time I was playing the game. So many thing that had yet to be discovered! *sigh* Memories (I'll stop this before I start to sound like grandpa telling about the war )
I am in blood Stepp'd in so far, that, should I wade no more, Returning were as tedious as go o'er.
