Hey all!
I'm working on a beach map. What this means is I have "islands" of sand, and it's all surrounded by the NAT_water_sea that has waves terrain.
Ideally, what i'd like to do for several reasons (ambiance, hidden paths, etc) is have certain sections where i have the ground terrain go just below the water terrain, and still have the characters walk on the ground terrain, not the water terrain.
Effectively, i want the characters to only treat the land as terrain, and ignore the water terrain, so sometimes they're ankle deep in water, sometimes they're waist deep.
What ends up happening is i make the terrain without the water, add the AI grid, and it works perfectly. But when i add the water, all of a sudden the characters start walking on top of the water (haven't even touched the AI grid).
so
A) is there anyway to get character pathing to ignore water terrain? (ideal solution, as then the waves look the same in the deep impassible parts as in the shallow parts)
B) Is there any way to create the effect of knee deep water you can walk through? (even if it would make this area look different then the "deep" water?
