I find it difficult to place sword cursor above enemy when attacking.

More often than not I choose a movement (because I miss click the enemy) and I move towards the enemy. This most often happens when ranged attacking.

Is there a solution for this ?

This is a common issue. You might want to try top down tactical view for easier click (default hotkey is 'b')

One option is to hold down CTRL while clicking, that will force an attack instead of moving. Not a fix, but at least it's a workaround.

Also, when you've misclicked like that with a ranged attack, you can right click to stop moving.

This is also useful if you're an idiot like me and forget to select - say - Staff of Magus before clicking the target, and find yourself running over to poke them with your staff.
