Not just because of Divinity Original Sin, but thank you in General. Im justing posting this here because its about the most recent Game, and as such more likely to be looked at.

I started playing the Divinity Series back with the Original, Divine Divinity when i was in my early Teens. I got it from a Version of "Computer Bild Spiele", which is essentially a Gaming Magazine that comes with a couple of Games. Back then, my Harddrive only knew 3 Games: Gothic, Diablo 2 Lords of Destruction, and Sacred. While playing Divine Divinity for the first time, i was instanly reminded of Diablo - However, not for long. It felt like a RPG that relied more on Atmosphere and Humor, rather than "Hardcore" Gameplay - And yet still offers a lot of Options for those that want to take the Gameplay more serious. I loved it. And yes, i killed Orthos Pigs. laugh

Unfortunately i never picked up Beyond Divinity until much later. I had a lot of fun with The Dragon Knight Saga, and a couple of Days ago i picked up Dragon Commander. And now im playing Divinity Original Sin, and just adore the Atmosphere the Game has. I dont care if people will call me a Fanboy, but i registered here for only one Reason - I wanted to say thanks. Most Devs these days are to afraid to try something new, everything has to be "The Norm" and rather Mainstream. That can work, like in most modern RPGs. The Elder Scrolls Series is a great Exampel that a more casual, mainstream oriented Gameplay is not always bad. However, it doesnt feel like anything "new".

With your Games, i never got that. In particular Games that mix Genres like Dragon Commander are anything but Mainstream oriented Games. And Original Sin, with the - when compared to other modern RPGs - unusual Combat System and long Dialog Options, is no exception. With that being said: Thank you, and Kudos for having the Balls to try something different, just doing your own thing.

Hear hear...

And while it's not always ideal (Dragon Commander's RTS comes to mind) it's definitely a lot better than the sequel and clone-machine the current market became, but hopefully KS and indie will successfully break a dent in...

For me this game came out of nowhere, i played ego draconis for a few hours, but wasnt in the mood for an gothic-like rpg at this time (probably have to give it another try), dragon commander isnt my type of game and divine divinity as an "oldschool-rpg" had to mess with baldurs gate on my "to play-list" and lost oops

So one can imagine how surprised i was after hearing praises from everywhere for a game which is exactly my cup of tea (turn- and party based, isometric with heavy rpg elements and even little things like a good sense of humour and no "list-like-inventory" - i am actually one who really likes the inventory system, though there could be some easy improvements). I finally ended up buying the CE and adding Larian to my "awesome developer-list"... which sadly got pretty short after the X:Rebirth desaster, but thats another story.

thankyou and more greetings from Germany

I got myself Dragon Commander too. DOS is just too awesome that i'm having Dragon Commander on backlog. You are right, nowadays most games are catered for casualized, mainstream market. I got the game before the game was released. Abit of gambling (for the sake of supporting indies) and it turns out this game kept getting 9/10 scores.

I just finished Divinity : Original Sin and I can only say that it is a superb game. There are not that many games that get me amazed like this one. And definately not that many rpg's using this style. Thanks for the humour, the tales, the quests, the characters, the design, the detail and whatever I am forgetting to mention. There are a few minor bugs but those are hardly worth a complaint.

This is a jewel that I gladly put in my hall of fame of party based top-down view RPG's next to the Baldur's Gate games and Planescape : Torment. And that is one hell of a compliment from me if I dare say so smile
