i downloaded and installed the patch but it didnt change the version number when i am at the main menu is there a reason for this or is it normal thanks in advance to anyone that helps

If you play with XP or Win 2000 you have to have read/write access - be the administrator. Then the patch install will work.

hehe hiya kiya raze said the same when i asked how to get the pathc the first time and i am the only user on my comp so i think i should have administrative capabilities.

Well, I'm out of clues then, sorry. I play XP and have only one account, never had probs to install to 1.0034 - so you've still got 1.0029A on your main screen in the lower right corner?

yeah thats right i did but Xan gave me a way to fix it he had me uninstall, restart comp, defrag, restart re install, restart, manual download of patch. make sure u backup patch first. thanks xan if u ever check this forum

I asked Xanlosch, a German tech crack, about Drizzt's patch prob:

New install of Div and install patch manually. Here Xan's steps for a PC, where he had no admin rights under Win XP:

1. Copy patch into the Divinity Run file
2. unpack the patch with the help of WinRar
3. execute the "dosomething.exe" (name is correct)
If the question pops up: "Should all files be overwritten" -> answer: "yes".
