What means -

OAB( Ordem dos Advogados do Brasil) - Order of Lawyers(right?) from Brasil.

It's a page about the next poll about who'll command the subsection of Uberlândia(my atual city) and there talk about the president and other things - the most difficult to do was the designer - i spend 1 hour to think and more one to implement it using fireworks, i'm not using photoshop anymore - i think the macromedia firework is more nice and cool.

the last thumbnail in "jovem" didn't load completly, but the large pic did.

As far as I understand your site: it's a political one, giving the potential voter info about the candidate, his private life and his political party - very informative, clear and many tiny links in there where you get info/pics. The first time i had the restriction too, but now i can see the site. Cant read it though <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/disagree.gif" alt="" /> . But from what i can see and guess, it has something to do with voting and presidents.

Well since I studied web designs I'll list you my comments, and there are a lot of them.

• those animated things at the bottom? loose them every "beginners site" has them, and they look crappy anyway, replace them with some icons fitting the whole page design
• the big font, its bad, really, use smoother fonts
  buttons, obviously the button is to small, and the text to big, if u want buttons, keep in mind that they should fit long words to. But imo I think your better of without buttons but with plain text in a table or in seperate cells, CSS, learn it, u can make realy nice simple things with it
• I see twice the same logo on the 1 page, wich is just waste of space.
• Your titles are to big, takes to much space, the more text is visual at once, the better, but don't use to small fonts either. Make sure the most important information is immediatly visible without using the scrollbar
• Popups = evil!
• I don't know what the message says, I guess it tells you your resolution, javascript good, but i know what my resolution is, don't want it to be told, especcialy not in a popup message window
• the map icons are to large, and ugly get better ones

Im glad the BOL in the error message was preceeded by Brasil Online. Otherwise you would think someone was abusing you in a foriegn language and then laughing about it <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

shyon, for a printscreen, please cut down the pix to smaller size or reduce the colour. it took my 56k modem a long time to load that pix.

u forgot something important! how are u? are u working full-time now?

as a friend, i'll be honest to u about your webpage.

it looks good. the main colours: blue, yellow, red, white blend nicely. the structure where u have the links on the left & content on the right is very safe & easy to navigate.

ok, here's the hard part. the fonts don't blend well with one another. & those that u have need font smoothing, as what drag said.

since u use basic colours, u should think of using web-colour-safe, that is 256 colour range. that way your graphics size won't go too high & make some people wait for some time before they can see anything on the page.

about the columns, they look ugly. loose it & make them in one column only. to make the paragraphs look better u can alternately use left & right alignments, with slightly different colour for each.

your icons for e-mail & webmaster doesn't look right with the blue background. both are made with white background in mind, as it's evident in the look.

try checking out http://www.phong.com & see how this dude does it with minimal graphics.

Janggut the phong page was made using Flash, i could did the OAB page using the flash too, but they'll not pay me the value, so i did it just with html and fireworks.

Maybe the menu table i'll change it cause of what you said, isn't for nothing but here with my 56k don't taked so long to load the image what you mentioned, but it's ok, about the size of the files it's because i used the snapshot palet of colors to save it, cause if i just used the base color - the images wasn't so good.


Kiya - churrasco, as you said is something about "meat" as you said, and fun, and beautiful girls, hehehe.

Lucretia - sorry but i can't do this page in english, i really would like to do, but i have other projects and things to do, like project of structured network cable and ect... and other sites, but i'm already designing my site using flash and fireworks, with a good graphical interface, but my project is just to the next year, and answering the janggut question - i'm working for my own at this moment, i'm not working in any place, i'm making restricted and requested services.


Any of my jobs, if is about web and ect, i'll let you know, the page is about what kiya said - political and information about the president and the information of his side.

The answer for all of your tips:

I didn't made the site for all my own opinion, i have to follow what they wanted.
Cause of this, i didn't made using my style.


Things like the animated and the large text - isn't my ideas.
For me i would do different too, fitting the whole page design.
The rest of the design was for me, but with some interference.

I have to follow the idea of the owner of the site.

I already tried to talk with the owner of the site, but he like in that way, thanks for you give your real opinion, i know you're right and don't disagree, i would try to talk with the owner again to change the things.

A webdesigner has more to do than make the client a site, he should discuss with him what he wants, if the clients asks you to do something you know better isn't done , or much better done otherwise you have to tell the client, you have to have an agreement with the client that you do whats best for his site, you are the webdesugner, he's not its only normal you know things better than the client, and the client will understand that you know what isn't such a good idea.

thats like a sculpturer, if he has to make a statue, and he has to make something wich is a bad idea, something that will break easely or something, he will tell the client about it.

Yeah, yeah, i knew this, but have some people what don't like to think about it, or you go to their way or you're out.

The guy is a litle hard head, but i'll try to convince him, look what he did:
The "Jovem" buttom what means "Young" with reference to Young lawyers(Young - OAB) wasn't ready yet, i was making a new design for this part, but this guy with his antecipated ideas, go there in the site manager, and copied my code and just change the name for the folder where are the other pics, so i could do nothing, i'll do the other design, and later i'll have to change the things cause this was the deal, but if he is the boss, i'll let he do what he wants, of course this isn't for my job, but for my luck other people know my job and what i do.

Being in intermship (right spelled ?) last year, I developed some kind of "asking sheet" or "asking form" for "my" company, for use for companies which would want a webpage developed by them.

One of the rather important points is, does the overall look of the webpage fit with the "corporate identity" of thze company ?

With sure everybody here what had trained webdesign, know what is the best for a good design and good retribution of your job.

And i'm not coming here to discuss this.

shyon, it's a good beginning. when i first started with html authoring, i had to use templates to learn, being slow & all.

another interesting link, should u be able to find time is www.lynda.com that covers almost anything web, especially graphics & web-interactivity.

best thing to do for your portfolio is to build webpages complete with stuff, & it doesn't have to be about real companies. maybe the upcoming riftrunner fansite kit will be useful as a tool for u to use & improve to whatever u have in mind.

just make sure u put them in servers that can be accessed anywhere in the world.

Thanks Junggut, but what i tried to say is, i don't want to discuss the question of the "taste" of the client and what he wants, not about the webdesigner and other kind of things, any tips is welcome.
