Hi, everyone,

I'm stuck on solving Jake's murder. I've read enough online to know what is supposed to happen and how to make it happen. But I'm missing some trigger.

After reading this walkthrough it is apparent that at some point I should return to Thelyron and he will explain Evenly has left in a hurry. I am unable to get this to happen. She is always in the building with him walking around talking about her stone and the guys I gave them advice on.

How do I trigger her flight so I can continue with the mission? I've been to the mortician, the captain, esmerelda, the murder scene, etc. Followed those instructions above but still no trigger to continue the mission. Can anyone help?

you need to get Esmeralda, Jake's wife, to tell you that you'd better talk to Evelyn; that is, clearing her off the suspect list and Evelyn becomes the primary suspect. only then, she will run off.

get Jake's dog to smell a jacket found in the clinic or Evelyn's dirty scarf (steals it) might also work? I didn't test these two myself.

You need three pieces of evidence to get Esmerelda to unload about Evelyn.
You can also solve it by talking to Murphy, yes.

And most importantly, don't forget to clean out Esmerelda's basement while your down there. I mean clean up as in if it isn't nailed down, "confiscate" it for "further investigation" which the local merchants can assist with.

Thelyron never did talk to me in my game. And tell me that Evelyn has wandered off in a hurry. Esmeralda did tell me this. Remember to sneak upstairs at Evelyn's house and get the key to the rest of her house. And do remember to go into the house via the backdoor. I didn't at first because I never knew I needed to do this. I think that if you wait too long when you go to speak to Thelyron again, Evelyn has already left. At least that how it was in my game.
