Hi there I tried your game out and with two 290 r9 cards in cross fire I seem to be only getting 70 to 80fps at top settings and 1440p is this a limit or do I have a problem? I just thought I would easily hit 107 . And yes I have my monitor set at 107 Hz it's a qnix overclocked. If I play with reducing settings what would make the biggest impact if that's my only option? Thanks.

No need to reduce your setting, or worry about lower frame rates than you would want for say a first person shooter. A game like this does not need the lightning fast reflexes like a shooter and you realy wont notice low frame rates (at least above 30 ish). The graphics are beautiful in this game, turn your settings up, turn fraps frame rate monitor off and enjoy the game smile

EDIT:- I'm using a nvide 650ti (1g) and a lowest of the low athlon fx 4100 quad core, I get 30 fps min at max settings and never notice it.

No I can see the difference very very clearly from even 60 up to 100fps. The game is a bit jerky at higher setting too...not so nice. Possibly it's just not optimized yet? When I play dota2 I can get a solid 107fps and it's so nice and smooth and solid I guess I was just hoping it would be the same frown. Anyone out there running two r9 290s with this game? Real pity having to choose jerky and not max fps good looking or a tiny resolution and max fps and smooth frown .

ok jeryness is something i hate my self, but with my set up as linked above the frame rate may not be amazingly high but it is smooth, I'm sorry I've used nvidea and athlons for too long now so I can only vouch for what I know, my post was ment to "convert" from fps thinking to cRPG thinking, I hope you find a solution as this game is definatly worth it (even thought it doesnt respect left handers lol soz dev gotta get that in there I'm determined to cpnvert you also ;p)

Yes well it's not unplayable but after the silky smoothness of dota2 at a solid 107 fps it's disappointing. It does look really good in 1440p and like I say is playable but higher fps and smoothness would be so much more enjoyable...I wonder if amd will save the day.
Ps not sure if any devs are watching anyway by the looks of responses here :O

Nobody? Anyone getting over 50-80 fps on any set up? At 1440p and top settings of course.

I am starting to get the picture now : I am seeing many new games not even using crossfire - feeling a bit pissed right now (asking the question why do I have a second card - not found anything to use it recently :O) - does origins even use crossfire? Or are we waiting for AMD to update?

Well...just reporting back I did actually get some help in another forum but so far it basically looks like this game does not support more than one card...would be nice to tell us. At least with amd and my set up hopefully some update might change this later on... frown

The reason for this is that D:OS uses a deferred renderer; those can handle much more lights on the scene than traditional forward renderers, however they render in multiple steps, and each step requires feedback from the previous rendering step.
While forward rendering could be parallelized relatively easily on multiple cards, as there was no feedback from the GPU, this is not the case for deferred renderers, so they cannot really utilize multiple GPUs.

I believe games only supporting one GPU will become more common, not less, as most new games/engines utilize deferred rendering.
(eg. Unreal 4: https://answers.unrealengine.com/questions/21746/does-the-ue4-engine-support-sli.html)

Bummer! I think they should have to state if it supports it or not people are going and buying a second card only find it's useless...well mostly in some situations...
