Here is a good trick: Don't use blue letters please. The default style for this message board is blue background, so your post is very difficult to read.

Search the message board, there are loads of tips and tricks all over the place. The SEARCH feature at the top of the page works quite well.

There is no one way to make a good character. The easiest character to play is probably the warrior, and the best class of weapon the sword (there are lots of good swords that are always in the game, unlike other weapon classes). I tend to like paladin-type characters - mostly warrior, with some healing and attack magic. Check out differences between classes if you're not sure what you want to try. What type of battle do you prefer? Do you want to wade into the thick of things and take on all comers toe-to-toe? Pick your targets off from a safe distance with a bow or magic? Use other creatures to attack monsters and keep anyone from getting to you?

The best skills to choose depend on how you want to play. One level in Repair would be good to get fairly soon. Other than that, check out the available skills when you level up. If anything looks like a good choice, put a skill point in. If you are not sure, wait; it is a good idea to keep a couple spare skill points once you get up a few levels. That way, if you run into a problem you can try out different things. You can also save before trying any skill, then re-load after a while if you don't care for it.

There are some spoilers in the topics below, but they might help you decide what you want to do;

I would say just play for a while....youll end up with a character at about level 20 that kinda stinks and then youll start over...well thats what I did anyway...
