I had to stop short of Braccus Rex, and try and level up elsewhere in order to have a better chance.

My two PCs, Jahan and Madora are all level 9, and the next fights in Silverglen are Level 12

I've cleared out what I can clear out, and I still appear to be behind the curve to be able to progress.

Is this typical or did I manage to miss enough content to put this far behind?

Assuming you did most of the stuff cyseal you should be around 9-10, so I would say you are on par. Depending on the pet talk talent you might have missed some experience but not so much it would cost you serious levels.

So depending on what you're doing on the Braccus fight I would assume that it is not much an issue of missed experience but more or less an issue of strategy.

If you have issues regarding strategy, feel free to ask or share what you're doing. I'm sure that there are a ton of people here who will jump in, however regarding your experience progress you're probably right on the money.

With kind regards,

Rashar.

Thanks Rashar, Yeah it was partially strategy and partially too low of level. At level 9 it wasn't too hard. I spread my four characters out as much as possible to avoid Bracchus' area fire attack, and put my character with the highest poison resistance close to the Poison Blob minion. Then focused on killing all of the minions first before going after Bracchus Rex himself. Had to use quite a few health potions though to get through it.

I know those level 12 fights are still going to be tough, though

In Silverglen I found it best to go after the White Witch first. It will send you someplace else that is a bit easier than most areas around Silverglen.
Depending on party composition and strategy you might be able to follow the initiation quest line in Silverglen for a bit, as well. The final stage can be hard, though.
