Is fixing the problem with the Source something you're supposed to do early in the game? I have to admit I've found no clue at all as to what could be the problem and I do search every corner of the game...

No, there's no way to fix the source, and it's not part of any quest.

maybe it was meant to be one. But they "deleted" him? It would be a nice one though, if they would implement him.

reward for the quest: how about +1restoration or alchemy. It has something to do with healing so...

yeah, I also thnk that it would be a great quest, even one that could implement a new world with loads of new quests in it... maybe something for the expansion pack??
