Okay, I know everybody has asked a million times to defeat this witch. I'm level 36 Mage with 6 spare skills but not a single chance against her. please help. I'm sick of trying and starting to doubt if I wanna continue to play.

You need the survivor's Deadly Gift skill (level 1 should be more than enough), and scorpion traps in your inventory.

Okay, thx all. Now I have completed all quests except Josie (I didn't know of those traps so never collected them and now I can't find a merchant who has some. The last quest is the murder in verdistis. I check out the wine merchant but find nothing wrong in his house. If I could solve these two (oh yes and the dwarf council member is nowhere to be found, in the scrying statue he's standing over a body). All the others quest have been solved. Anybody can help me here, I really want to move on.

thx

Look to the far west of Pierce's house. There is hatch on the floor that leads to his cellar.

If you started the game after installing the 1.34 patch, Finnigan in the cellar of the Ducal inn in Verdistis sells traps, otherwise Blake in Ars Magicana or Mpenzak in Verdistis occasionally sell them. Tingalf in Ars Magicana sells traps, though you likely already had him arrested.

In the cellar of the wine merchant, to the east on the northern wall, there is an entrance to another room. You may have to move some boxes or packages out of the way first.

The dwarven council member should be beside the axe monument in the dwarven village, or in the house just south of there. More rarely he can wander around the dwarven village.

The dwarf in nowhere to be found, in the scrying mirror he is standing over a body, does anybody know where that can be?

Well... no he isn't. I have now walked around that Dwarven Town for more then 4 hours searching every square inch a zillion times. In the scrying statue he's standing over a thug's body and whatever I do he's NOT in the dwarven town. I'm quiting this silly game!

just walk south of the axe monument & hold down the alt-key. he's usually hidden behind the house south of the monument.

Did you talk to Zandalor again after scrying? Asking about the elven council member at the archer's guild usually triggers his appearance in the village in the few cases he doesn't show up, but the dwarven member is almost always in or around the house.
Did you have the mini map open while searching for him? Kiya once had him get stuck in a wall.

I talked to the elven archers but why should that help me with the dwarves? Anyway, that resulted in nothing. The alt key doesn't do anything for me (nothing is indicated) and there simply is no dwarf in the dwarven village or the house. I didn't open the mini-map (never do)

"why should that help me with the dwarves?"

That's just a similar situation, where asking about someone can trigger their appearence, and is not directly related to the dwarven council member.

Oh okay, but as stated I cannot even really speak about the elven council member. It just states those three possibilities, is this the archer's guild, can I become a member and sorry I have to leave (or something like that). I clicked on all but nothing happened when I returned to the Dwarven Village and as mentioned the alt key doesn't show me anything (no text âppears and no items are shown)

The Elven Council Member isn't in the Archers' Guild. He can be found in Fiu Nimble, you know, the Elven village in the Dark Forest.

Do you have a previous save with the dwarven council member still around? You can temporarily get someone back with the procedure below, but that may or may not cause a problem during the blessing ceremony.

Harglowe's missing Rimmer post:

Quote
Alas, I turned the dwarven village inside out, but no Rimmer.
I did solve the problem in the end, by cheating however.

I took an old saved game (a game where I hadn't been to the dwarven village at all) and temporarily copied the data.000 file from that saved game to my newest saved game (after making a backup of the original data.000).
It appears that the data.000 file contains the location of all NPC's and even your own location.
I started up the saved game, went to Rimmers house, talked to him (he was standing in his house, a few feet from the entrance), saved the game and restored the data.000 file.

As per the Josephine herself stuck in the wall topic, someone had to swap data files to kill Josephine, but recruited the elven council member before restoring their original file. During the blessing ceremony, the screen switched to the Dark Forest when it was his turn to talk, but proceeded fine. Someone tried this for the imp council member (who was missing to start with), but the game would hang trying to change focus to him.
Make a copy of your latest save (or save under a new name) before trying this, just in case.
