Hey, I am trying to create my own hair and skin color for my chracters, I found that they reside in properties.lsx in character creation folder. Though when I move the properties file into the "reflected" game hierarchy it says I cant play multiplayer because the main becomes corrupt for some reason I dont understand, if anyone know and can help me with that also I would be grateful. Buuuuut anywho, what kind color reference does the game use? I have no idea, does anyone have a clue?

Ok, so i found out the reference system, it was pretty weird and im still trying to wrap my head around it, if someone is interested in knowing I can try to explain it.

But i havnt found out why i cant play the game in mutliplayer if i extract the file "Divinity - Original Sin\Data\Mods\Main\CharacterCreation\Properties.lsx" from main.pak. Then it says the main.pak is corrupt and i cant play the game in multiplayer, >even if i don't modify it in any way< O.o

Where are you extracting to?

I'm extracting to:
"Divinity - Original Sin\Data\Mods\Main\CharacterCreation\Properties.lsx"

There's your answer then. Because it's pulling a local file from that location - which is essentially an override to the PAK version - the local main is no longer standard. It doesn't know or care that the local file you've created is exactly the same as the PAK version.

I haven't done any modding to the main campaign myself, so I don't really know an awful lot about the process. With that said, I'm just going to point you in the direction of Rhidian's work on this:

I think that your modification needs to follow the steps contained in the first two spoiler boxes in that thread's opening post (the first spoiler box for how to apply changes to an existing save, the second spoiler box for how to apply the modification without the 'corrupt main.pak' error).

Hopefully someone'll come in and correct me if I've got this wrong. smile

from the top of my head, create a new mod which has a dependency with main. (check the box when you create a new mod with the editor) Set a menu level and as starting level set it as CharacterCreation. You now have a working mod in which you can edit stuff for the main campaign.
put your
"Divinity - Original Sin\Data\Mods\Main\CharacterCreation\Properties.lsx"
into
"Divinity - Original Sin\Data\Mods\_YOURMODNAMNE_\CharacterCreation\Properties.lsx"

should work fine for mp now
