Hello and thanks for reading.

I made a ranger-based character with the Politician talent, so he started with +2 charisma. This functioned properly at the beginning of the game through the first series of dialogue Rock-Paper-Scissors encounters -- he received extra points each time he won a round.

Not sure if this is a factor, but at some point he also had the Considerate trait, adding another point to his charisma for a total of +3. I believe this factored into Rock-Paper-Scissors properly as well. However, shortly after acquiring the Considerate trait, he lost it by gaining several points (2) in Blunt.

Still, this should have left him with the +2 charisma from his Politician talent, which is precisely what's recorded in his character sheet.

But now multiple dialogue encounters w/Rock-Paper-Scissors and different characters, including his fellow source hunter companion (who has no charisma bonus) and Esmerelda, have registered zero charisma bonus for him. This is made clear by the user interface, which clearly states a charisma bonus of "0" (so it's not just a matter of the Rock-Paper-Scissors points he is awarded).

Unless I'm missing some hidden factor, this is a bug. I'm hoping that possibly restoring his +1 charisma from Considerate will cause the game to register his actual total properly (of course, for this I'll have to come across a dialogue opportunity to be "considerate"). Either that or coming across +1 charisma gear (if this exists) or possibly investing one "hard point" into the skill, though I had no intention of doing this.

Any insight, input, fixes, possible remedies would be appreciated. If nobody knows, could reinstalling the game and restoring my save reset my character?

Thanks,

Geezer

All i know is that different NPCs also have their own charisma scores and they react differently to specific suggestions or options you have chosen in the dialogue battle.

So choosing to be aggressive or intimidating will work better against a specific NPC, while going for charm option will work better against another.

Maybe thats what causing the difference you see?

Don't think so, because it displays "0" charisma bonus in the Rock, Paper, Scissors mini-game, which it shouldn't do if you in fact have one. So, sure, other factors may figure into the equation, but it shouldn't say you get nothing when it's clear the bonus is present.

Further, this is also the case when one of my characters opposes the other in conversation and then the game proceeds to Rock, Paper, Scissors between my two main characters. Previously, this gave the advantage to my party leader, who has the +2. Now it doesn't, even though my other character has a charisma of zero.

Will an uninstall and reinstall reset the game (though I do want to preserve and reload my saves)? Perhaps this will fix the issue.

Did reinstalling do the trick? I've run into this issue as well...
