Not going to bother using the spoiler font, since I'd just have to cover the whole post anyway.
So in DOS, you are special. You are not just a common everyday Source Hunter that stumbles onto a grand adventure. No, you're actually somewhere just below a god ... you just don't know it yet.
I know in games like the last TES games the PC was someone special, someone unique who was the only one who could do what's needed to beat the MQ. You and only you. DOS seems to fall into that category also.
It just makes me really miss games like FO-NV, where you really are just an average Joe kind of guy that gets into a big mess. It's just really rewarding to go from a basic simple guy to someone that can make a difference ... and then just fade into history.
Some of the thrill is just gone when you find out just how special you actually are in DOS. Does anyone else just wish you could have been just an ordinary Source Hunter who just happened to be at the right place at the right time? Or is being some kind of godlike being kind of expected in CRPG's (like BG).
