I don't trust Bush, I don't trust the US, they should try to keep their owns streets safe first before they go playing cop of the world.

I agree that the US should clean up its own streets nor do I completely trust Bush or out government, but if NOTHING is done about people like Hussien and Ben Louden (sp?) and their armies of terrorist, what will become of the world and the rest of humanity?

despite our likes & dislikes, i surely hope the world will have peace again. & learn a valuable lesson that tragedy can be made into a tool of revenge. & that power corrupts. & bush & saddam should go for marriage counselling as a couple & work out their difference.

And we cave good old America to solve everybody´s problems... America is very concerned for humanity indeed. And for Japan too. Very concerned. The atomic bomb made a great good to humanity. Yeap. Do I have to say more? Humanity is safe and sound now that we have America eh? Strange though. So many millions spend on wars, army etc and we can´t find a cure for cancer yet...

Ok I have to interject my 2 cents here and as the people that have been around awhile know its kinda different than the rest of you.

1) Bush has done nothing but what he said he would do. Go ahead try and argue with me but youre wrong.

2) As far as Iraq goes Saddam is an evil @sshole that did nothing but spread distrust and pain and misery. While some of you would say Bush does the same things...I don't know how you can compare the two. Last I checked the US hasnt used mustard gas on its own people. There are no torture chambers here and even the terrorists held in Cuba are treated inumerably better than even children were under Saddam.

3) If you want to say Bush and Blair lied about WMD fine go ahead but every major intel agency in the world (even from countries that boycotted the war) believed that he had or was going to have those weapons. AND AGAIN HE HAS USED THEM ON HIS OWN PEOPLE

4) Ok, so maybe if the US and co. hadnt gone to war the inspectors could have taken care of the WMD issue. Maybe, sure. Then we could have all laughed at the big bad US who thought we needed to fight and hailed the French(who happened to have invested millions of dollars in Iraqs oil industry) for protecting peace. THAT WOULD LEAVE ONE MAJOR ISSUE SADDAM IS STILL AN EVIL @sshole

5) Why Iraq, why not Korea, or Iran? Ok this gets a little fuzzier but allow me to clear up the BS. 13 UN resolutions, Lying to the world in its arms statement even after the very veague yet strong language in the last resolution. Not to mention a list of human rights atrocities that are on par with atrocities in cambodia. Granted there are some that are worse. Does defeating evil in one place make it bad for not defeating it someplace else though?

6) You may all not like Bush and Blair but many do. For example I do. I am willing to fight and die for my country. I am in the Air Force (the best damn air force in the world btw) and we do more than just bomb children, ok. The US armed forces partake in thousands of humanitarian missions at home and around the world. We are lead by Bush, he is our captain. Until you are willing to fight and die for a cause your opinions hold little merit in my eyes. Go ahead, join the crowd and hate the evil oppressors who are countering EVIL people. Have fun we will protect you while you do it.

*big deep breath* Ok bring on the objections.

And dont just say oil. I will shoot that down right now. The US does not go to war simply for oil. Bosnia(we still have troops there), Korea(we still have troops there), Vietnam, Phillipenes, Iraq, Iraq2, Afghanistan(troops there), Rawanda, Somalia...hrmmm other than the two wars in Iraq...not alot of oil rich countries there

To me this looks like a political move, even if it's true, USA elections are close right? Imagine of what many people'll think:
"Dããããã~.... Bush saved a part of this world caughting Sadam."

I know this don't happens with everybody, but have a lot of influence in what the people think about your president.

Some people change their opinion because of some facts and balbalbalb....

As I've seen and heard on TV there are many terrorists who die for their cause even in Iraq. They believe they are fighting and dying for a righteous cause. As in your words their opinions have more merit to you then mine have (who is not willing to die for a cause), It's useless to debate things as long as you are making blanket statements like this.

Well yes but elections are always close. I mean in a four year term...the war started last year and then this year and elections are next year so....

Mythros i would agree that terrorists are fighting for a cause and they are willing to die for it, obviously. However their methods are abominable. While war is atrocious(I am no war monger) Intentionally killing civillians in an effort to scare the public is the wrong way to fight. The taking of life is hard to justify and aiming it at people that cannot defend themselves is wrong.

And i will retract the comment you mentioned. Those opinions do matter...I was ranting. Sorry

exactly, shyon. there no way he's not going to be re-elected now.
which means that my important causes, like the environment, and good stuff for poor people, are going to hell.

oh, and we didn't go to afghanistan for oil, we went cause we wanted control of the opium, and through opium, heroin.

Erhhh and exactly where you DON'T have troops? I would really want to know. Why do you always have to send your troops to solve other countrie's problems?

Face it! You never mind your own business. Please note that I am oposite to the killings that happened to Americans too. I don't hate Americans. I hate politics and all the games they play. And sometimes I laugh with Americans because they vote for such presidents. Please don't get angry. This is my opinion.

And something else please : Do not ever say that you are willing to fight and die for your country. You are not the only one. I respect you for wanting to do this, but I think that everybody in here, if their country was in danger would do the same thing. I would die for my country too and with pleasure. And I was ready to do my duty when things with Turks got out of control. And guess what. America got in the way again....

Aha... the United Nations... interesting. So, we care about the United Nations when we look for arguments why Iraq was attacked, but we don't care about the United Nations when they want to prevent this war and disagree with the mighty USofA? Sure... we are the USofA, we have our own logic...

And if disagreeing with Bush and the current US goverment means hating the USA and US citizens: Yes, I do hate the USA and US citizens. Along with millions of US citizens, btw, who disagree with Bush and their goverment, too. My, my...

Please everyone remember that what you read here is the OPINION of the writer lets not hate each other but respect each other. When we get upset we might not be able to clearly get across, in the 'common language', what we mean to say.

I wouldn't die for my country, not even if we are attacked. Why should I give up my life? is dead really worth it? I would do basicly anything for humanity but dying, this would not only affect me but also my relatives, my friends etc..

Oh yesterdday I watched TV and some Belgian reporters followed iraqi oposition in their fight against Americans:
- Almost all of the original terrorist are DEAD
- It are almost students, educated poeple who formed a new opposition when bagdad was attacked.
- They don't fight in name of sadam, but in name of Iraq, they don't want the US to interfere.

So actually you didnt stop much but Saddam, new terrorist organisation have formed.

If the US really just wanted to get Saddam out of the way it would have been done much sooner, much more efficient and a total different method.

Oh and about the DNA they don't need saddams DNA to prove its him, they have the DNA of the sons so that enough to know they have the real saddam.

I followed the discussion a bit and now i feel that i do have to write my own opinion.

It is very easy to blame the terrorists on one hand or the USA on the other. Fact is that the USA are the only country who is willing to intervene in critical situations. The problem is that very often these interventions are not useful.

But who decides?

Saddam Hussein used poison gas on Iraqui people. China imprisons and kills people who are against the government. North Korea builds the A-Bomb. In Kongo there is civil war.

Who decides where to intervene and where not?

The USA had the september 11th and therefor it is in a way understandable that it´s government overreact.

But why there is terrorism against the western world and especially the USA?

Because the people see that they have a chance to weaken the strongest country in the world, they found out that they are able to fear a country to it´s bones with weak methods, they managed to destroy our economical system for a year or so. (just by capturing planes and killing about 4000 people.

Terror is a business of fear and everyone who is afraid supports the terror. the stronger the countermeasures are the more terrorists have the feeling of success.

The only solution to terror is to give potential terrorists a future, a work and help them to fit into the 21th century. this may sound strange but believe me this is the truth.

u said it, lostlady though i know u're not (lost, that is). education is the way to let others see the truth & not propaganda.

we must learn that fear & ignorance have to go. u said it, the only way is education.

sad thing is that US has to do things their own way instead of doing thing accordingly with the rest of the world via UN (which is a US initiated effort).

walk it like u talk it. yes, the current US admin doesn't seem to honour the pacts/agreement which earlier leader have strived to make. walking all over UN doesn't help in achieving peace & especially understanding.

my country has a bit of that problem as well, i admit, as different eduction minister tends to 'experiment' with education systems that kids here are so confused.

intentions of the US admin, good as it is, can lead the whole world to hell. there are better ways to solve things. it's weird, US has smart bombs but they're not smart enough 2 get the success it supposed to get. way to go for your next year's budget for defense. better use them for education.

i'm painted in red so go ahead & shoot.

The World needed the Americans to "Interfere"(Sp?) in the 2nd world war or where would we all be today? How short our minds are!
Go out and speak to the elder Generations and ask thier opinions.
If the Germans , japanese and later the Russians had done what they wanted would there even be a World to live on today?

US policy back then is way way way different from what it has become today. US intervention back then was really about defending allies which there were agreement of some kind made before war broke out.

england went to war for poland, its ally. the reason was clear.

not this one. same goes for afghanistan war.

war is such an archaic method to solve conflicts, if it ever succeeds in that at all.

if US is really sincere in ending all these madness & misery, it should think of ways to end the source, which is the thought of opposing US. the best way is to project a better image, which can be kind & considerate, rather than bully that nobody dares to oppose.

u cannot avoid having enemies, but u can avoid the increase in numbers.

I just want to mention that there is no link between the 9/11 attacks and Saddam Hussein/Iraq. And that is not the case because I say it: Even Bush has admitted that there is no link. So, if there is no relevance, why always mentioning the 9/11 attacks in a discussion about Iraq and Saddam Hussein? Talking about education, it would help if people knew enough about Iraq to realize that the war and capturing Saddam Hussein will solve nothing. Couple of people here tried to make clear that point, but who cares, right?
