Hi,
I have a quest about George's murder.I have already found that vimpire in Verdistis and killed him.The second part of this quest is tell Mandareus about this,but when I went to him he told me nothing about it.Now mandareus is in the Council of 7 and that quest remains unsolved.Is there any trick to solve it?

It depends on the version you play. The release version ahs the bug, that the quest can´t be solved any more when mardaneus is in the council of 7 already. If you´ve installed the patch you can tell him in the council as well.

If you have the release version your quest will remein unsolvable as the patch takes it´s full effect only with a new game after the patch installation. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/puppyeyes.gif" alt="" />

Also if you havent talked to the vampire about the murder, it cant be solved either.

Have you downloaded a patch, waterbeefly?

If yes your version changed to watever patch you installed, otherwise it´s the release version. Download the latest patch from here.

When you are in the main menu you see the version number at the bottom of your screen.

" If you´ve installed the patch you can tell him in the council as well."

interestingly, i also was not able to complete this quest as i'd already sent mard along to the council. and i WAS playing with the patch.
once in council, there were no options (i could find) to get the subject brought back up.

Did you installed the patch, after you startet youre game? The story effects of the patch only take effect when starting a game after the patch was installed...

i only played the game about a month(?) ago...so yes, the first thing i did was install the patch.

hmmm... I´m sorry, but it should work, no Idea why it doesn´t, maybe others know...

I thought there were mixed experiences from people trying to complete that quest with Mardaneus already in the council hall.

Did you refuse to get George the Drudanae herb at the start of the game? That will break the murder quest, even if you later bring him his fix.

nope, gave him the plant, etc. etc.
the quest just couldn't be completed as mard was unwilling to speak on the subject.
oh well. thankfully, after trying to complete it a few differnet times (meaning: attempt, go do other things, come back try again), i just went ahead and banged the gong realizing it was simply an unfinished (journal) quest - it WAS done.

No, but the patch reaches it´s full effect only with a new started game.

And you can see what ver. you are playing on the down at the bottom, right to your screen when you play the game.

I had trouble with this quest too, and it still remains unsolved. Did you find George actually laying on the floor dead before you killed the vampire? That's what busted my quest...I knew that George was going to be murdered, but I forgot to go see the body before I killed the vamp. That could also be a problem with you.

Perhaps,but actually,I have the task to tell Mandareus about Georges murderer,but when i came to Aleroth,there were orcs around the village and they were terrorizing old man,I killed them and in the conversation there was nothing about the George....I sent him to the Council and that was the end.The conversation about George never appeared.... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/offtopic.gif" alt="" />
