Correct, more than idle interest: Moore's books and a lot of others dealing with the American society are in heated discussion in Germany since the Iraq crisis. The country you live in is watched closely in Europe - don't worry, I see the the individual not the nationality. And in case you still do, there's a lot not correct in my country either => call it even.

I have to be informed as a librarian

when you feel up to it, we shall have a discussion on the iraq 'crisis', as viewed by an american.

PS last october (just a bit over a year) i was travelling italy for about 21 days. the conversations were most telling.

Michael Moore? A fine man. I don't fall to mindless admiration of individuals. I am just glad someone uses their brain. All that worries me is that as was said above here that there is great variety in americans' opinions - and doesn't that go for any nation - yet the course of the nation is one of rampaging...and I keep wondering why, if so many people 'use their brain' they cannot change the way the USA deals with the world.

This could all be made into a fine game hehehehe.

But let us not dwell on this no more. I alienate enough people elsewhere with what I belief and see happening to our world. And they can take it. Perhaps I play these games to escape the dreadful world we have gotten into thanks to the USA :-(

(I don't want no air marshalls, no identity cards, not my personal information given by airliners to US gov. - all because we must now be afraid of terrorists (the ones that never came here anyway because what is there here for them?) - all because of US foreign policy.

@ Vaipen, Please stop...Yes, you are making yourself seem ignorant! Generalized statements about how people think or feel is not a good way to be. It does not gather you respect or admiration. Micheal Moore...Wannabe comedian, soapbox junkie. Did he actually sell any books? (besides to libraries?)(no slam meant to you,Kiya)
Not everything bad in this world was caused by the United States! Be sure to look in your own backyard befor throwing stones! I am tired of being slammed because of where I was born. I had no control over that! Belive what you want to belive, by all means. This is a free country!
I don't care if the goverment wants my blood so they can identify me. I have nothing to hide. Do you? Wake up! (Mslynx, shakes her head in amazement)

On topic...I have no problem with spelling errors in games. Divinity was translated from Dutch. Yes? CDV was the publisher for the game. A British company. So in my mind it would make sense that the translation would be closer to the Queens English. Despite spelling errors, I understood perfectly what was meant. If the game was still in it's original language, I would still be looking in the dictionary for the translations to the most simple statements.
I would not even be past the first dungeon! I do not expect German,Russian, japanese or any other language to translate perfectly into english. English is way to narrow (for lack of a better word) for that.

*shakes along*
I heard something about how the GB wants to introduce a "new" means of identification, to replace the ordinary passport - something like fingerprints or so. Public opinion was so-many pro and so-many contra. Makes you wonder about how many so-many people have something to hide...

ps - Because this reply is way off topic, anyone please feel free to correct any spelling errors in it, so it's still in a way a little related to the original topic

Hey Vaipan,

USA is the only world that matters.

Boy... That sounds as stupid is your pronouncement was.... For your info I have seen the whole world and I still fly my flag and love my country. Besides which this is a game forum, not someplace for you to air your political whinings.

Most of the spelling errors did not bother me at all. I would rather see spelling errors than coding errors. Seeing as how I don't know any German at all the German version was not a choice. I found some of the vocabulary funny though, I haven't seen the word dullard used much ( except by me to describe co-workers).

If it were only whinings. But then practically the whole world whines. Of course there are always patriots. I don't understand your grammar by the way.

Since people keep commenting, I feel entitled to give these quotes just once for all flag wavers:

"He who joyfully marches to music rank and file, has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would surely suffice. This disgrace to civilization should be done away with at once. Heroism at command, how violently I hate all this, how despicable and ignoble war is; I would rather be torn to shreds than be a part of so base an action. It is my conviction that killing under the cloak of war is nothing but an act of murder."
- Albert Einstein

Patriotism itself - love of one's country and one's people - is a natural and reasonable human feeling. But patriotism which measures one's country by military superiority over all rivals regardless of consequence is irrational... There is surely a more rational form of patriotism that searches for excellence in social, economic and moral spheres rather than in weapon systems."
Thomas Bodenheimer and Robert Gould

"Our government has kept us in a perpetual state of fear - kept us in a continuous stampede of patriotic fervor - with the cry of grave national emergency. Always there has been some terrible evil at home or some monstrous foreign power that was going to gobble us up if we did not blindly rally behind it ..."
US General Douglas MacArthur

"Patriotism, like religion, meets people's need for something greater to which their individual lives can be anchored ... America's state religion, [is] patriotism, a phenomenon which has convinced many of the citizenry that "treason" is morally worse than murder or rape "
William Blum

I also found the word dullard...interesting. Now I will say no more in this thread.

pronouncement[n.]:
1.An authoritative declaration.
2.An opinion voiced by a judge on a point of law not directly bearing on the case in question and therefore not binding. (or on topic!)
3.One chap's arbitrary assertion.
4.obiter dictum: An incidental remark.
