Are their recipes in game for all craftable items?

I try my best to not cheat and use the game mechanics to enjoy the game but I know sometimes developers want you to just try random stuff to see if they combine into something.

I personally hate that, and don't want to just be randoming combining stuff.

Before I cheat and look at the crafting list I thought I would ask.

No. There are recipe books for about 50% of the formulas. Another 25% can probably be derived from those recipes, and some are logical like getting a bucket of water from a well. However, there are some recipes that are not covered by recipe books and that are probably very hard to figure out by logic.
