So from what I can read on various internet forums, the only way to be able to use tenebrium weapons is by completing the troll king quest offered by Brandon or use the book found in the immaculate settlement.

I refused the troll king quest and used the book on a wrong character because I did not know what exactly tenebrium was used for at the time.

So basically now its impossible for my fighter character to use tenebrium weapons.

This just seems like extremely poor design.

I agree with you on the design part, however using stuff without knowing what it does and refusing quests are not the very best of choises either in a crpg.

So yes, I agree that Larian should have made it more clear that it was an important quest, however I still think you could have done better on your part aswell.

I can recommend downloading a save game editor, it will allow you to spawn the tenbrium book for example.

With kind regards,

Rashar.

this is adding to the injury; people could refuse that quest because they're role-playing. it's a "shady" invitation some uptight/rigtheous characters simply wouldn't want anything to do with it. also, this is a quest involving companion RSP situation, people could "refuse" the quest due to their companions.

taking all quests in CRPG is meta gaming: try to get every secrets and bonus, like a good alignment party taking on an evil alignment quest.

true role-playing, you get some and loose some.

as for the tenebrium issue, it's a dead horse I've been beating. either tenebrium related quests need to be part of main quest, or closing the rift shouldn't be required to finish the game.

Technically, Tenebrium isn't really that good anyway (especially when you prefer weapons without a gaudy elemental effect.)

Story-wise you shouldn't learn to handle it incidentally and within a few minutes from the very guy who could have prevented the immaculate's rise by teaching the same to his mining staff. A source ritual would have made more sense - to use it safely you'd need to sacrifice a litter of newborn kittens and bathe in their blood.

As for the rift, you don't need tenebrium to destroy the bloodstone itself, and you can sneak past the tigers or use invisibility, but well, the whole rift sequence (actually the whole Luculla forest) seems like hastily jointed filler content. As if this area was done and now needed a reason to exist, but there wasn't enough time/money left to do it as originally intended.

I'd like to know this too. Last time I tried, the Bloodstone had 100 resistance to all physical attack types and 200 resistance to all elements, and since it is an inanimate object, you cannot use Nullify Resistances on it.

idk, I just snuck there with my rogue and hit it with a dagger (no elemental damage on the dagger, normal difficulty) took a while and the dagger broke inbetween but still got the job done. I assumed it's just the dagger that did so little (10-20) damage, and made a mental note to port in the warrior with the huge axe next time.
