I just beat the game for my first time, as a level 43 mage...
Few things.. I never used charms because I didn't know what to do with them... Ended the game with a billion charms in my packet... How were you supposed to use them? Also, where was that dragon breastplate? I searched quite a bit in Verdistis... Talked to both rich nobles.. Did the Dante quest... Patrick gave me no quest... Did Tilgurf(or whatever his name is)'s quest as far as I could.. I alerted the guards, found the black market... But the quest didn't proceed farther.. Don't know if that had anything to do with it...

Apprently it is due to the buggy game that I never got the quest... Oh, and also, let me ask... When you save the boy from the vampire in the dark cave NE of the merchant area, how do you get into his chamber? The door locks and I couldn't find a way in...

Enchanting items - step by step

VERY BIG SPOILER ON DRAGON ARMOR SET - Sir Patrick should have given you a quest to get the armour, though you sometimes have to talk to the king, Grisha and Sir Patrick a couple times to trigger the speech option.

So, in other words, it wasn't my fault, it was again the game's buggy fault... Amazing game but wayyy too many bugs...I spent way too much time going around in circles when it wasn't even my fault... When I reduced Patrick's dialog to just getting credit, I figured it wouldn't be him and endlessly searched elsewhere.. I hate using spoilers until I beat a game, so it is a good thing I moved on with the main quest... I had done the axe quest, talked to the king, etc etc... And why would anyone have to throw the letter and axe in front of the guards... If the game breaks a quest by its own rules of taking your weapons and armor away, it is their fault... I shouldn't have to work around everything because they have their own quests bugged... I am really looking forward to Riftrunner... but not if they end up patching it like this game... Why is a 1+ year old game still bugged like this? I purposely waited until they patched the game a bunch to play it, and considering they last patched the game in March or May.... It seems unlikely they will do it again... My first complaint was that my Radeon card would fail the directx test, which apparently is a known bug that they never managed to fix... SO I was stuck using Directdraw which would crash my game every hour or so... It wasn't until I learned that directx would still work that I used it and my game stopped crashing as much... I understand that they are a new underfunded developer... but I still don't being frustrated by bugged quests... I could deal with the spelling errors though...

You were able to save the boy? It seems he died when I tried and if I remember correctly, I am pretty sure I used a lockpick to get into the chamber.

Oh yeah, congrats on finishing the game.

You need to sacrifice yourself to save the boy. After that it takes either Lockpick or Telekinesis (on the lever) to open the door (level 2 for each).

Damn, maybe I was tired and missed that option. Wasn't sure if it was suppose to happen or not. Guess my reputation won't get better because of that.

Gotcha... Yeah, I saved him by "sacrificing" myself but since I never got lockpick(mages do not lockpick!) I never was able to get in.. I figured it was lockpick, but I figured I should just skip it since that would be anti roleplay.

telekinesis is your answer then. a mage would have such power, i think.

I went back with a previous save to check out the dark cave again. Guess I was just roleplaying myself and decided not to trust a vampire. Same as with the slasher, my initial thought was not to help an orc by giving him an axe.

I actually went back to that area also out of curiosity when it was brought up in another post, the slasher quest that is.

I'm not happy about the boy dying but at least he did not have to suffer the plague.

Kiya

Locus Inn, Wizard skill, click here, please

for further info, you can get it at lvl 10 or earlier if you can buy a book/have an item with this quality. If you open your skill book in the game, there is a tiny book icon => if you click on it you see all spells/skills, even if you're not high enough for that.

Man when I played the game with the only patches available at the time I never had to much problems, bugs that kept me from enjoying the game, but I guess you can't please every one. It could have used 1 more patch but IMO It was very playable!! *Peace*
