Sure hope I'm doing this right this time. heh

I mistakenly posted on the "Beyond Divinity" board, so will repost here. Hope that's okay! Below is the cut and paste...

Hmmmmmmmmmmm I have very erratic success repairing my items. I make Repair my active skill and right click on it, yet seldom get the hammer/anvil icon. I'm a newbie, but seem to be doing other things correctly. I think.

At skill level one, I know I cannot mend to max, but I assume I can do some good for items once the equipment icon changes to the Repair one.

Right clicking closing the window is somewhat discombobulating, but I'm getting the hang of the controls. LOL

Any suggestions appreciated! I'm now a lev 6 warrior.

Divine Divinity is absolutely incredible! A friend recommended it to me, and I'm completely smitten!

I'm also a newbie, but this is how I do it. Select the skill. You may then close the window which displays available skills by clicking on the toolbar button that opened the window. Then open the window which displays the equipment you are wearing. Right click anywhere on the screen and then left click over the item you wish to repair. You will only be able to repair an item up to a certain percentage of the total durability which will depend on the skill level of Repair. 1 point in repair is adequate imo. As soon as you are done using the Repair skill deselect it by selecting your most commonly used combat skill; otherwise you might find yourself clicking on Repair in the heat of battle instead of the combat skill you wanted and you will die.

That's exactly what I needed to know, Cleglaw! Thanks!

I made several mistakes in my approach. Using the tool bar to close the window was the ticket.

Unfortunately, now that you've taught me the correct way to repair, I get an error msg that terminates the game. So I can't even use the nifty info you gave me yet!

I've tried to send the problem to support, but the submit page isn't available right now.

Thanks again!

Best wishes for a Happy New Year and great gaming!

Zan, how do you repair? In your inventory or by putting the item on the ground and then repairing? some have crashes during repair in the inventory.

And also, have you applied the latest patch? It's important, because it fixes a lot of game-breaking bugs.

Indeed, I try to repair within the inventory window, Kiya! I can hardly wait to try dropping the item and repairing it on the ground! Thanks!!!

Still haven't been able to subit my error report to the support link.

And thank you, His_Divine_Shadow.

Yes, I applied the 1.0034A patch as soon as I installed the game.

I have repaired in the past, so this is a new happening. I do have many saved games, so if I have to uninstall/reinstall, hope I can use them. hehe

Happy New Year to everyone, whether past or future.

Thanks for confirming, Zan - I really had the impression that repairing in your inventory makes the game instable (unstable?) - but I have no clue why,
Kiya

It seems to be a computer thing. Mine's never had a problem either. Although, I've only tried it on equipped items, not inventory as such.

I was trying to repair an equipped item, HandEFood. Guess we all have little quirks that go along with our gaming machines at one time or another. I'm just always thankful when folks offer suggestions that solve mine. LOL
