I talked to the Guild Merchant and told him I wanted to Buy the house but he told me I needed to talk to Malcolm or how ever you spell the guy's name. Can anyone tell me where I can find Him? Thank you so much!! This Is In Verdist too. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beyond.gif" alt="" />

If you agree to kill Maria, you will not be able to restore her reputation (she will not talk to you), so will not be able to buy the house. The house is nothing special, anyway; there are lots of places you can just take over.

Search Malcolm's house... (spoiler screen shot). Trevor may be interested in what you find.

Jolly, get the quest to restore Maria's rep - she will flag Malcolm's house for you in Verdistis. NW corner. Go there and get the financial records from his cupboard (on top) - go to Trevor/guildmaster of merchants, show him these records. Report to Maria. She will go to Verdistis, meet her in the guildhall there - she will vouch for you - you can rent/buy the house form Trevor then.

I finally decided I needed to spend some money and bought the house from Trevor. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

I had the kid lead me to Malcolm's place and got the experience. However, both doors to my new home are locked!! I looked around the perimeter for a key, since lockpick = 5 failed.

Am I missing the obvious???

you don't even need to buy the house. there are cheaper ways to get XP.

Sheesh! It couldn't be more obvious than that, huh? *sigh* Yep, I had the key that opened the house. Guess I was so astonished to find it locked I figured I was gonna have to fight my way in. LOL
