New suggestion: You get to pick your character's voice. British, scottish, irish german, french etc. accents would be cool too.

Elhan

Sadly UK, Scottland, Ireland, Germany and France do not exist in Divinity universe.
BTW, have you thought what it'll be to have all the dialogs in the game spoken in 8 different ways? Sound clips take much space and I doubt many people would appreciate to have a game on 6 CDs only because of the accents. I mean I was annoyed that I had to keep switching 3 CDs arround when I played BG 2. Imagine if it was 6...

You can always buy a british, german and french versions: it'll only be better for Larian <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />.

I want 1000 elephants and 25 naked women in <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beyond.gif" alt="" />. Would anybody agree with me? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/silly.gif" alt="" />

I think that Beyond Divinity has full speech, so adding accents would be almost a CD on it's own. Neverwinter Nights could get away with numerous accents because it only affected common actions like fighting moves.

From the women <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

Actually it's an allusion to Moving Pictures to Terry Pratchett: The movie director wrote "Come to see [...] 1000 elephants" on the posters <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />.

EDIT: HandEFood, BD *will* have full speech.
Yes, BG, IWD and NWN had you chosing the voice but none of the player character's lines were said.
Though it IS possible to change the level of the voice like in Operation Flashpoint. The level, though, not the accent.

lol The accents do not require the existence of these nations, lol Dwarves for example can be given the typica sco'ish accent. I realise the problems that this can create, from what you and Handefood say, however, compression techniques can limit the CD number can't they? As can the use of 3d character models.

BTW, please not too much spamming!

I would like to see some tigers in BD :P

Well, to give another example, in games localized into German there have been accents from various German dialects - with varied results : Some players hated these, others loved them ...

True, but it was still a very limited selection. Not even a bow!

Agreed. Furthermore, staves don't even have a proficiency in the game! Kendo is a fighting art with staves. Surely they offer some levels of expertise. Anyway, the amulet was nice enough, but there are better amulets.

Well, it would take too much money to hire so many voice artists. Plus don't you think Larian would compress the game already <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />?

BTW, you can try to translate yourself and add different accents: windows sound recorder allows you to save your voice under any format. I am not joking.

That could be cool. All you'd need is Larian's sound packer to add it too the game! <memories of Shrek Voice Studio>

My own voice recordings? I'll pass <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />

Another suggestion, which others have mentioned, would be a mana based version of Survivor's Instinct, regenerating mana. Being able of picking a god to follow would be nice too (did I mention this one? :P). Could add to ur spirit resistance against demons.

Of course we don't ask for much <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" /> Our demans are within logical bounds lol

Elhan

PS: I just wanted to ask, are Beyond Divinity's and DD2's quests going to depend on ur level and standing in the game world, as in World of Warcraft? I found the idea good, and thought it would be great for the Divinity series. How does the random quest generator thingy work?

You cannot pick a god to follow because you're already a follower of <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/div.gif" alt="" />'s character (your PC) and the Deathknight is a chaotic figure.
D&D, eh?

As for quest depending on your level, I think Battlegrounds have that. Not sure though.

I like that. I'd forgotten about those stories in Divine Divinity. In most games I've played where Deity's are involved, selection of a god gives you access to other possibly unique spells and skills in the form of divine grace. It'd be like another initial selection such as race. Not only can you select from seven unique races, but seven unique dieties as well.

The idea fits very good with my suggestion I've made about the death of the character you play.

There is only one problem :

Supposed, we get to play the Divine One again, he cannot follow a God or Goddess, because he or she already is one ! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/silly.gif" alt="" />
