[color:"black"] Hello everyone on the forum. This Christmas I was given Divine Divinity as a present by my dear sister. I mentioned to her that I was looking for a fresh RPG, something that I didn't do before being a seasoned adventurer.

Having played them all, or most of them (Monkey Island, Maniac Mansion, Beneath a steel sky,Simon the sorcerer,Zak Mckracken etc) and having completed most I figured the task of finding me something to play, which wouldnt be the same as everything else I'd played before, was gargantuan.

[color:"red"] With the impeccable intuition which only a woman would have, she picked up a copy of DD. I am still playing it and I think it is possibly the best RPG to have come out this decade. I don't even think things like Ultima brush in the vicinity of DD's pure brilliance. Thank you very much to Larian studios, their ideas were implemented to near-perfection. Of course there's a few bugs, I didn't get the patch but got round them with the Hex editor. It certainly hasn't spoiled my enjoyement.

[color:"white"] The Game is amazing. You can do anything you want to and I only recently found out that I can actually undertake "The Path Of The Divine". This brings me onto my question. As I am a survivor character (a particularly good one since I can do alchemy and lockpicking to Level 5) I prefer to use a bow in combat. I have gotten quite fast with it, and also I can apply poison to it which easily kills orcs and "normal" creatures. However something strange has happened. This new path came up which is not in the manual. I got a "Mastered Bow" Icon in a "Path of the Divine" which I couldnt find. This is usually of a warrior path not survivor. I didnt spend any skill points on this the game actually gave me it, I only found it after looking at the skills. There are no other skills available to buy in the path of the divine, nor do they show up with the "Show all skills".

In short. The true aim of the game is to become Divine? Of Course! It would make sense however I couldnt find any references to it on the forum, there many great players on here who have completed the game many times but I haven't heard this "Path of The Divine" mentioned anywhere.

I hope you can help, meanwhile I aim to make a good contribution to the forum. Again to Larian, a job exceptionally done!

I am glad you like this game, we all here also do. (no wonder at least it´s the official forum... )

You ask for a major spoiler here. Please confirm if you want me to answer it.

Alrite Bernard,

could u sort of answer it without spoiling it? I mean there is a sort of bonus called path of the divine right?

Also Im at level 31 at the moment. What is the actual maximux level one can reach with a character by killing every possible evil NPC in the game (including board, wildlife etc etc) but without any cheats.

Ok, let´s put it this way.

You are right that will recieve the path of the divine later in the game. It will be given to you after completing most of the main quest quests.

One can reach about level 55 without cheating although this may be different due to experience bombs.

usually player finish about level 50.

It doesn't sound like you are far enough in the game to have that path available. Maybe it is just a graphics glitch? Try deleting all of the files in the '..\Divine Divinity\Run\Dynamic' folder.
This folder is used as a cache for the game. Files are created / copied there from the save game folder when you load, and written / copied from that folder when you save a game. The files will be re-created as required the next time you start Divinity. If there was a corrupt file in that folder, deleting the files should fix the problem.

The patch gives you two (by default) quick saves, as well as various bug fixes (some of the story fixes only apply to new games, though).

that seems weird. though it doesn't ruin anything. just gives you a chance of getting better spells early on.

I wouldn't worry.

like Raze said, a little glitch.

but it could be good.

Heh thanks a lot guys. I deleted everything but I still have it. I think this game likes me heh I don't know.

Its important what you mention about experience bombs or the "Wiseman" option in the survivor skills. It is one of the things I did early in the game (level 5 Wiseman) as I figured this is what gets your skills up faster. It really depends how you want to play it I guess i.e. you could have left the wise skill out and gone for something else...

<EDIT>

Aha! Looks like you were right Raze, I deleted the cached graphics and its not there anymore. It still shows the path. All is rational again...;-)

stick around. we have a lot of fun interacting with people all around the world. we're friendlier than UN.
