HAHA I just found a charm bug, that i thought i would share. Im sure you might all ready know about it, but i thought it was funny. I just made a pair of golden chain gloves with 21 charms on them. (it said it would only hold four.)
what happened was, I opened up too many charm windwos. I clicked the goves 3 times and three charm windows popped up with open slots. (12) open slots, so i filled them all up, and they all stuck. haha So naturally i went back to opened up more windows and loaded all the orbs i had into one set of gloves. 21 charms in all. in the end i came up with a pair of gloves +16 str, +6 ag, +8 int, +24 con, +200 vitality, +100 magic, +75 res light, +115 res poison, +35 res spirit. im sure the charming could be done infanitly, but I only had 21 orbs avalible. It all saved, everything works fine, it didnt crash the game.
hope they dont fix it!

I slaughtered them all like they where animals. Not just the men, but the women and children too! Da$% orcs!

I think the newest patch addresses this. I know, I was semi-disappointed, too <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/sad.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/delight.gif" alt="" />

well thats kind of sad, i guess i have the release version, hmm let me look. it says v1.0029A ohh well, you know i have finished the game once, and i havnt hit half of the flaws i have read about. this charm bug, and the speaker scrathing once in a while, are the one only problems i have had. The only two big quest i didnt finish where the rivertown plauge, and the dukes death.

ill get them this time around.. before i figured, the guy with a squiggle on his head had to be crooked, and if your taking medicine from a guy with a squiggle on his foregead you deserve what you get!
and the Duke, i know who killed him, i killed the guy who killed him, quest solved. hehe

Playing with the original version 1.029 still has the charm bug - but story bugs, too.

So, I'd choose - I prefer the patch, because of the quicksave slots, no resistance bug, I can ask the imp as often as I wish etc. BTW, I didn't use the charm bug in earlier versions either, but Barnabus has the 1.032 version on his site, this one still has the charm bug and protects against resistance bug.

I don't understand, Vulgar - as you have already asked twice about patching, Vulgar, I conclude you still play 1.029. So, you found no charms to try out the bug? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/think.gif" alt="" />

I was lucky when i uninstalled and then reinstalled the game, the patch got taken off so i played with a belt with about 100 + with everything you can think of.

87 charms.

youch!

and I never get story problems.

just my chest of over 500k items and gold disappeared! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/puppyeyes.gif" alt="" />

Then Barnabus and I really don't understand your question today in the tech forum, if you have already downloaded and installed the patch. What did we miss, Child of Nature?

ah ok, when i read the patch changes before it, it says:

''Please read the following carefully: If you apply the updated patch and load savegames made prior to v1.33 you will encounter no more problems.

If you had loaded savegames made with v1.33 after starting a new game with v1.33 you will also not encounter any problems.

If you have made a savegame in versions before v1.33, then loaded that savegame in v1.33 and saved in v1.33, that savegame is potentially corrupt. The best thing is to revert to one of the savegames made earlier with v1.32 or before. ''

now this was confusing for me, since i had installed the patch after i started playing, i was wondering whether the patch would still work properly, so i asked, then banarbus helped me by saying about the tech bugs and story bugs

i think thats what i was thinking, but im getting a bit confused myself now <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/think.gif" alt="" />

Ah, ok, now I understand, I'll explain:
The original English version on the CD is version 1.029 - so you updated from [color:"yellow"]1.029 to 1.034[/color]. And even story bugs will be solved if you haven't triggered them already by being in the appropriate area and talking to the NSC giving you a quest.

The patch version 1.33 that caused problems does not exist anymore - at least not more on this forum, though some sites still offer it for a download. But even this has been fixed by the publisher CDV that now link to the last and correct patch.

FYI: patch version 1.33 caused the black map problem (you uncover an area, return and it is covered again). This caused probs in various quests, where doors were locked again and you couldn't access quest relevant areas. In this case hexedit helped.

Are you still confused?
