It may mean absolutely nothing in the grand scheme of things, but it's still sad to see our beloved languishing at the bottom of its North American publisher's poll... Which Hip Game are you most looking forward to? Firestarter (19%) Beyond Divinity (15%) Sitting Ducks (28%) Kill.Switch (38%) TOTAL VOTES: 295 Can someone provide insight into whether this will have any effect on the publisher's efforts? Will they try harder to promote? Give it less effort? Is the whole thing totally irrelevant? For anyone interested, the poll is on Hip's main page: right here.

They might try to up the advertisement so more people see it.

P.S. I voted Beyond Divinity.

Just not a fan of the VOTE thread. It's good to know I'm not the only one. I never saw the point.

yes, votes don't matter much in this. however purchase & preorder does. so show your support!
& why preorder doesn't exist for ? i'm sure we'll have quite a lot of those. i mean, look at all that desperate people in our forum!

Pre order would be solution for me. Otherwise I will be sitting here watching you talk about the game, helping each other, joke about it and..... still wait for it to come to Greece. Since Firestarter is made by an Urainian developper (the same who's cooking STALKER: Oblivion Lost), I feel I should vote for it... On the other hand, I might upset the other ones... Anyway, the point of this post is just to say that Firestarter will cost 20$US.

Yes, depending on how you play, you might get bonuses and some abilities by the end of the level. It's not an Action-RPG Deus-Ex level but it looks promising for 20$.

@ HandEFood: Thanks for stepping in there... I also do NOT want another "VOTE!" thread, and I should have made that clear in my original post.
@ Lews: Your enthusiasm and devotion are admirable , but a publisher's site is very different than tothegame.com (which now seems to have a more stable system, so perhaps our efforts, overblown as they might have been, did pay off a bit )
So, does anyone here think like a publisher? Are the results of this type of poll likely to have any effect on the promotional effort?

That's okay, DATD...I might even take a look at that one myself...
And btw:
Which Hip Game are you most looking forward to? Firestarter (14%) Beyond Divinity (39%) Sitting Ducks (20%) Kill.Switch (27%) TOTAL VOTES: 412
hmmm...i wonder if most of those extra votes showed referrers from this site...

a pic from HIP Interactive that is not in the fan site kit Back on topic I my opnion, if I were a publisher I would use this info as a guide to set up a goal for profits made from a game. In other words, if a game is ranked high in numbers as a game that people want I would set the goal for profits high and if I was not 'greedy', yes I would try to promote the game a little more. Advertising is a hard market because 1 satisfied customer will tell 5 more people, where as 1 unsatisfied customer will tell 10 other people.
