The site/game is not a problem in itself, just the way some people try to get more clicks. Often (at least in my experience) there is deceit involved to try to trick people into clicking on the link, and it is posted in the wrong forum (see Outwar's anti-spam policy). I think you are about the first person I've seen actually state that the link was going to Outwar, so I clicked it (to get you to 75 feet). An acceptable way to trick people IMNSHO would be something like Morbo's post favorite beyond divinity art work. Pretending to ask for, or offer, help in the Divinity forums to get clicks is very annoying spam, particularly since that often appears to be the only reason they joined the forum in the first place. Welcome to the forum. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wave.gif" alt="" /> Spick; There shouldn't be anything trying to download. Maybe javascript or something your browser doesn't understand? Maybe something from a popup ad? I use WebWasher (site appears to be down as I post this) to stop popups.

Basically, whenever someone clicks on a link to a monster's page, that monster becomes stronger. There are ways existing monsters can fight each other, etc that I never bothered looking at, since it is the pyramid scheme style activity that is the focus of spamming. Outwar FAQ; How to play
The purpose of outwar is to develop your character by gaining power and earning money. You can enhance the capabilities of your character by purchasing items at the shop and battling with other players. The monster, gangster and pop star with the most money at the end of the round wins!
How do I gain power? Every time someone clicks on your secret link, your character will gain power. Try placing your secret link somewhere people will see it; such as in your profile, away message, or a web page.
How do I earn money? There are 2 ways your character can make money. Every hour your character will make money based on your power. The more power you have, the more money you will make every hour. You can also make money by actively attacking other players.
How do I win the game? The monster, gangster and pop star with the most money at the end of the round will win.

I don't understand: why not to go there? It's not that you're getting a virus or having your soul taken away! For example, look at Mobo's sig (I think it was Mobo). He has a link for a similar Zombie game. If you want to know what the game is, you could've just clicked! Spick: if you're asked if you want to download something, you can always click 'no', can't you?
/me is suprised
BTW, clicked to get you to 81 feet. Nice artwork, I love that smokey style. Though your avatar reminds me of that green He-man's battlecat from Masters of the Universe. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wave.gif" alt="" />

@ DATD : Nothing really against Outwar, except insofar as it's a pyramid scheme (which I dislike on principle), and I certainly do appreciate that InTheMiddleOfNowhere was quite straightforward about what he (or she?) was posting.
But if the only reason for joining the forum here was to post the link in a bid for more clicks... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" /> Do not want to be hasty in judgement, and consequently unfair to InTheMiddleOfNowhere, so will let time decide.

I was asked to download the Outwar Toolbar. It's java probably. I had Webwasher, it's great but I had to turn it on/off because it blocks EVERY popup and I am too lazy to configure it.

The WebWasher link above works, there was just a temporary problem somewhere between here and there at the time. When I hit a site that requires popups, etc I just left click on the WebWasher tray icon to disable it and re-load the page.

You can also block popups with Mozilla or Firebire or the Google toolbar. And with these you have the option of adding on "Nuke Anything" which is an intriguing name and function that no browser should be without. Btw I didn't care for our friend posting the Outwar link either. He may not realize it, but he is basically a pawn in the hands of the company that makes and markets a cheap offensive methodology for increasing their web traffic.
