The more I play the game the more FPS in game decrease. I have now discovered most of the area around Cyseal and FPS are so low it has become unplayable, or at least very unenjoyable. My computer is a bit old (CPU E6750, GPU AMD Radeon HD 5850, 4 gb RAM), but it's still a bit over the minimum requirements (as far as I know AMD Radeon HD 5850 is just an older version of 6850...both these cards preform almost the same). When I started playing the game everything ran smootly at 1900x1200 with everything at High (I could even put it on Ultra and didn't notice much changes). The further I play, the worse it gets. I tried lowering details to low, even very low, drastically reducing resolution, but I barely get to 20 fps. If I'm at 1900x1200 I barely go over 10 fps. What puzzles me the most is that the game mostly uses only up to 50% of GPU (there are some rare peaks that go a bit over 90%). So is the game so heavy on the CPU, and relies mostly on CPU power and not so much on GPU? Will upgrading just my CPU and maybe RAM give me the opportunity to play the game smoothly with higher details and in 1900x1200 or should I upgrade the GPU also?

This is a "common" issue around here.

Not much can be done on our side, the game lacks optimization.

I'm on a laptop and to get steady FPS (around 20-25) I must use medium setting. My laptop has a dedicated GPU so I should be targeting steady 30 FPS on high.

So even a better configuration couldn't run this game properly? Cuz I've seen some gameplays that seem to run smooth as butter. If that's the case buying this game is just a waste of money.

If you save the game does the performance go back to normal for awhile?
I had that problem once (there are a couple similar topics), but only with a bunch of background programs and not having rebooted my computer for days. After rebooting I couldn't reproduce the drop with a 'normal' amount of background programs running (several Explorer, text editor and web browsers open).

There is a separate performance issue some people have with laptops using dual graphics.

I stopped playing the game for about a month. the other day i started it and everything is running smoother than ever...i get 25-30 fps all the time. absolutely no decrease in fps as i progress further into the game. what happened i don't know i just know it runs great now. i just hope it stays that way. 1920 x 1200, high settings...i didn't upgrade anything on my computer (except the keyboard :)).
