well there needs to be longer subjects allowed...

Those NPC chatter loops get really annoying after hearing the same inane lines more than a few times.

There really needs to be an option to do something about them.

Next time try to find a good set of mumble or muffled speech tracks instead and make then a lot longer

Those NPC lines are amusing IF you hear them only a few times but more than that they take away from the fun of the game.

I'm not sure it'll work for you, but try this:

Keep yourself lighthearted and let the quirky NPC chatter scratch a smile on your face.

Or just ignore it if you ultimately find it too repetitive.

On a more serious note, adjusting their frequency down a little wouldn't hurt.

Unless otherwise specified, just an opinion or simple curiosity.

This is more of an issue in MP games where the "other" player is reading the dialog in the text window where the local chatter is also appearing... it can make following the ocnversation even more difficult than normal.

It would have been nice to bring MP players into the conversation dialog without being able to pick responses... but the devs do what they do...

You can.

The other player can initiate dialogue on the PC who is chatting with the NPC and he will listen in.

I think the mouseover icon is even an ear.
