What choice will we have when creating our characters? Is it the same like in DD 6 characters, 3 male and 3 female? Until now I only saw male characters in screenshots, that's too bad, because I only play with females, unless there is no other choice than choosing a male character.

You'll be able to choose between male, female, child... and with each of those you'll have several choices like hair color etc. There won't be any classes - you eventually become whatever you want by choosing skills while you play.

At least, that's what I've remembered from the interviews I've read so far. Maybe some of the fan sites have all the information from those interviews gathered together somewhere...
(Oh, exclude my own Divinity fansite - You won't find anything on Beyond Divinity on it )

Guess I was wrong in saying there won't be any classes:

From the latest interview:
Quote

Will the heroes have unique class feats or in the Divine Divinity manner each hero can develop any ability?
At the start of the game you will choose between Wizard, Warrior and Ranger. This only unlocks your starting skills, so in other words, you can still develop your character in any way you want.

Go here for the full interview

I thought in another interview someone said there were default characters with skill/stat points distributed appropriately, or you could distribute/adjust them yourself.

Exactly what I heard last. There is a preselection of characters you can choose from. They have their skills selected and their points distributed. Or you can create a character from scratch. They could have changed that of course, although the inteview does not contradict it.

I imagine they're just quick-start characters. I hope you can create you own from scratch.

I assume where it says "Be Like" you get to choose warrior, wizard, ranger, or customize to your heart's content. But I could be wrong.

Ya, I think you are right Lord. The customization is totally up to the player. You can have whatever kind of character you want.

Superpanda? hehehe!

Pretty nifty... or should I say "rifty" (excuse me for the pun) creation screen.
Survival? Interesting stat, I presume it's like 6th sense, reflexes and perception combined?

You are right. That is still the same screen as before. Creating a character from scratch is still in.

Ah, great stat, then! I like the idea.
Thanks, your highness
