Took me a few years and a dozen aborted characters before I decided to take one all the way through to the end. I took a couple all the way to level 35+ before I'd find some idiot excuse to reroll - should've reloaded for a better stat on something, or should've tried harder with some damn bookcases, or should've tried to finish some minor quest.
Ended with a level 50 mage with 250, 272, 227 and 93 on the four attributes. All resistances 1000+. Vit 1000+. Mana 2000+. That was with her fully buffed and with five large+ charms on all items. Could've easily finished the game with a character half as 'powerful'.
Doesn't sound like I had much
fun with the game does it? But I did. I enjoyed Divine Divinity thoroughly - the humour, the music, the fantasy homages, the plot (I liked it so there!), all great - but wish I hadn't been so ... idiotically obsessed with having a perfect run through.
Just bought the other two games from the anthology (individually) from Steam and now keep telling myself I'm just going to play and enjoy those rather than make myself miserable fussing about items and stats.
