Took me a few years and a dozen aborted characters before I decided to take one all the way through to the end. I took a couple all the way to level 35+ before I'd find some idiot excuse to reroll - should've reloaded for a better stat on something, or should've tried harder with some damn bookcases, or should've tried to finish some minor quest.

Ended with a level 50 mage with 250, 272, 227 and 93 on the four attributes. All resistances 1000+. Vit 1000+. Mana 2000+. That was with her fully buffed and with five large+ charms on all items. Could've easily finished the game with a character half as 'powerful'.

Doesn't sound like I had much fun with the game does it? But I did. I enjoyed Divine Divinity thoroughly - the humour, the music, the fantasy homages, the plot (I liked it so there!), all great - but wish I hadn't been so ... idiotically obsessed with having a perfect run through.

Just bought the other two games from the anthology (individually) from Steam and now keep telling myself I'm just going to play and enjoy those rather than make myself miserable fussing about items and stats.

Rather pointless post I know but felt I had to crow about my 'achievement', and to see if other players tortured themselves the way I did (misery loves company and all that smile.

I've played so many hundred hours Divine Divinity ... I tortured myself many times to start again, again, again, again .. because of (mostly) stupid thoughts about invested points for stats or skills ... each time again, again & again :hihi:

I claphands you for ending Divine Divinity !
I've ended the game only 1 or 2 times, but started countless times !! :hihi:

I still darf to play Divine Divinity, but now Original Sin keeps me busy &
my mind is totally Charmed by the Divnity Universe in times of Source Magic laugh !

On 7th of february 2015 : I start a new adventure in the Divinity world of Original Sin,
it's a Fantastic Freaking Fabulous Funny ... it's my All Time Favorite One !

For Divine Divinity I played it straight through (taking a break in the middle) once, after playing the demo (ie up to the first meeting with Zandalor). I started another character after that, but ended up getting busy with other things and abandoning that game.
D:OS, though, I restarted more than I needed to during the beta (saves were generally not compatible between updates). I'd like to get a full playthrough in the beta patch, actually, and have a different party makeup in mind for when the harder difficulty mode gets added.
