Well I hope you are right.
What I see as a great future of DO:S , perhaps even worthy of separate kickstarter is editor on the same level as one created for original Neverwinter Nights by Bioware.
I perhaps need not to remind anyone that soon after NWN was released we have allready seen mods that surpased story telling of original campaign, with sequels spanning hundreds of quality gameplay hours.
Live Dungeon Master feature (that would be easily added to DO:S) enabled NWN to become even better version of Pen And Paper.
And creation of mods was so easy that anyone could do it in minutes, yet experienced users could dive deep in script and produce wonders.
I think that few key features would be enough for DO:S editor to reach same heights:
Prefabs - Ready rooms , areas , monsters , NPCs , Items , traps , scripts ...etc
Tooltips -
Wizard -
And improved UI.
Taken from there , we would almost have no need for Larian to make new games

Or perhaps only to enritch models and resources for the editor !
