There absolutely needs to be a way to highlight intractables. I even want to see the names of containers and whether or not they are empty or still need to be looted.

This literally killing the game for me, since I like to make sure I feel I've completely covered an area before moving on, instead I'm dowsing or remousing over containers I already opened.

I'm really at a loss why this is not in the game already. As an option, there is no reasonable argument against it.

This would be a nice option to have. Larian could also cut down on the number of random crates and barrels in the game period. They oversaturate the game with useless junk and pads the gametime. For now, do yourself a favor and just avoid looting crates. Your chances of getting anything even vaguely useful (scrolls, ingredients, and arrows) are pretty low, and there's 0% you'll get any magic or rare items unless you have lucky charm, and even then the chances you'll get a magic item are still really low. You'll never get a legendary from crates, even with level 6 lucky charm. You're not going to miss out on anything special by avoiding crates, and you get plenty of junk from combat as is. If it's really killing the game for you, just forget about the containers.

Edit: Also, dowsing is a great word.

There is probably a spectrum of people with different wants in this regard. Alt effects could have a slider type setting. setting 1, just normal lootable items appear. setting 2 all containers and non-secret interactables. Setting 3, display everything.

Still seems strange it isn't in already, in some variation or other. Same thing with esc button not closing conversations-- why doesn't it? It's especially annoying when NPC has many choices and you need to scroll down for the conversation exit button.

Your advice is truly golden, Baardvark. I don't think I ever saw that many useless containers in a game. Not even in the earlier Divinity versions. Yes, I think ignoring all except for chests and boxes should work just fine.

100% agree. I just fireball them all getting tired of looking through them.

Also what is up with all thes books containers on book shelves...

IMHO, the net effect is dragging out a good movie out for 5 hours. At some point, you couldn't help it but go: "Come on man!"
