As far as Underworld goes, it hasn't gotten as much media attention or visibility as other RPGs I've seen on Kickstarter. And yet Warren Spector is an advisor on the project. Tracy Hickman is writing a novel. Paul Neurath and Tim Stellmach are back.
Looking Glass Studios made some of greatest PC games of all time. They were some of the most innovative and influential. This project shouldn't just appeal to old geezers who loved classic RPGs we played 30 years ago. This project should appeal to the millions of people who played any Underworld game, Thief, System Shock, Bioshock, etc.
If you want more games in that vein, you should support this project. They managed to deliver a narrative while also giving us a fun sandbox, where players could leverage the tools they were given to come up with creative solutions to problems. We have too many games that are just cut-scenes and quick-time-events.
I know Larian Studios are huge Ultima fans and were greatly influenced by the Ultima games. I'd hope people here would show their support to Underworld Ascendant.
