During battle madora was hit by spell from another party member. Once fight over I get a dialog where she says goodbye. And she was carrying my best loot. I don't see her back at the crab inn, is she gone for good ?

Is my only option to re-do the entire battle ?

Check the hall of heroes in the homestead. Before you have access to it, dismissed companions go to the King Crab tavern, after they go to the hall of heroes.

When you talk to her, trade first and give her all your gold, and other valuable items you don't mind rearranging. That will boost her opinion of you, to get her to rejoin and help prevent her from leaving again if she gets hit by more friendly fire.
