After playing for tens of hours in a 3-player campaign, one of our characters, Madora, suddenly stopped being able to talk to anyone other than the heroes. This is kind of a problem, because Madora is controlled by our third player, and so they need to be able to speak to vendors to get equipment and such. The first time this happened, simply loading the most recent quicksave fixed it, but the most recent occurrence has left us with our most recent unbroken save being over 5 hours prior. I have already posted about this in the MooseEdit thread, as I've been trying to modify the save to fix it, but I'm having no luck. What confuses me is that the issue is tied directly to the Madora character. Switching her with Jahan, for example, does not cause the same issue to happen with Jahan. Switching Jahan back to Madora still leaves Madora in the same state, however. I have read about a similar bug happening, back in beta builds, but it occurred rather early on in the campaign. We're a good 40+ hours in, at this point. Suffice to say, I'm at a complete loss, and our campaign is currently on hold until we can either find a solution or we decide to save edit a henchman to have all of Madora's current stats. More details about my save editing attempts are here http://www.larian.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=521295&page=25#Post563402

See if Madora can talk to any objects that can speak, like the wishing well, or the final chest in the homestead. Check animals, as well.
During the beta there was an issue a few people ran into with characters no longer being able to speak, fixed by walking out of Cyseal through one of the northern gates and returning (through a different gate).
Try having Madora head to the clinic in Cyseal, and with the door closed, try to Pickpocket the sheep to trigger combat, and then either escape or kill it. Save first; there will be a reputation hit, but it would probably help.

She can successfully attempt opening the Last Chest, which makes her speak to the chest. Talking to either of the wishing wells also works, oddly. The problem persists, afterwards, however.
She cannot speak to animals. I tried Jake's dog and a cow.
The gate thing didn't work, either.
No good on the sheep combat thing, either. Started combat successfully, but no change after fleeing.
EDIT: It may also be worth pointing out that Madora has been part of another, unusual bug, recently. Sometimes, when combat starts, Madora is left out of the combat rotation. She's simply left to roam about, able to attack enemies with targeted attacks, freely, and no one acknowledges her existence. It's completely inconsistent as to whether this occurs. All this walking around Cyseal ended up bringing me back into contact with Wulfram, who I forgot was the first bug we encountered in this campaign. I'm not sure if it's relevant, but we can't talk to Wulfram, anymore. We finished his quest, and he's just standing outside of the town gate, mute. There's a speech icon when we roll our cursors over him, but no one can talk to him. This was at least 30 hours ago, though, so I doubt it took this long to finally break Madora and no one else.

It wasn't a guaranteed fix, but a couple people during the beta ran into this problem and got their character to be able to talk again by talking to objects; IIRC this helped one person directly, the other it allowed them to talk to rats (or something), and after that they could talk to other animals, and doing that allowed them to talk to NPCs (or maybe just some NPCs first). For Wolfram, another dialog should have started as you approached, and he would then head to the bar in the King Crab. Please email supportdos@larian.com, with a description of the problem (or link to this topic) and the report.zip file generated by the D:OS Analysis Tool (for the PC version). The report will contain system and game information, as well as your saved games. To reduce the file size, you can delete most of the saves from the zip; leave your latest, and (if available) maybe the most recent Madora could speak, and oldest she couldn't. For Mac, to get system specs you can use the 'System Report' button from the 'About This Mac' Apple menu item or the 'System Information' app (in the utilities folder). Saves can be zipped by right clicking the folder(s) and selecting Compress, in the folder: ~/Documents/Larian Studios/Divinity Original Sin/PlayerProfiles/<ProfileName>/Savegames

Will do. Thanks for your help. What an extremely odd bug.
