I am about to fight in the twins by fire joined challenge and I was wondering if spells stack. I have two casters who both have rain spell. Does it increase/multiply damage if they both cast on fire characters (in same turn) or is that a waste ?

No, spells that produce the same spell effect do not stack. But different spells that have different spell effects can stack. Oath of Desecration can't stack with another one, but it can stack with Rage, because those are two different spell effects.

So, any two water spells won't stack, not just two invocations of rain ?

Is there any posting on the web that you know of that shows which different spells do work well together ?

No, that is not at all what I am saying.

Rain sometimes "forgets" to put out characters on fire, if the burning occured after the spell was cast. Recasting rain takes care of that, but nothing more.
