Some friends here of other forum, area talking about cheaters no USeast, what is terrible,
a melee sorc killing barb with one punch using an orb, and a paladin with storm in one hit too.
And others can know what is all of your itens using the new maphack.
What do you think?

I hate those guys who are using all those hacks, and especially those uber items. It isn't hard to win that way.
The only hack i don't really mind is when someone uses maphack, but then only if they use it to help someone and not to kill other people etc. As long as no other people suffer from those cheaters.

I loved the anty cheat policy in DAOC. Cheaters accounts were terminated very quickly. So, almost no cheating was there.

Could be about the policy but was two people using the cheaters, how long takes to they caught someone what was using cheat.

Yes, I see, D2 is different. Lots of servers. Hundreds of games. Cheater tracking is difficult. This sux. But cannot you just kick or even ban the cheater if you host the game?

Hah! Diablo cheaters @#$%^&, I mean they where the reason I stopped playing online, I mean what was the point to play a game when some ingrate came in with minus 65500 hp and was able to teleport just about anywhere, and with my luck he would have had a T1 cable connection against my poor 56K it was just no fun, and I don't believe in "If you can't beat them, join them" philosophy.
Truly it put me of multiplayer for a long time, ... at least until NWN came out, now at least I can enjopy myself either by exploring new worlds or joining a party without fear of the "is he/she gonna kill me for fun" factor.
Although I have played Diablo, Hellfire, D2 and it's exp and enjoyed it tremendously, it was a pity that Blizzard wasn't able to fix those crazy cheaters on Battlenet earlier in it's inception.
Geez, sorry guy's but I think that has been sitting on my chest for some years now, and I needed to get rid of it, and unfortunately it happen to be you guy's

Me too. If you're going to cheat, cheat in the privacy of your own game.

@ Mea, That is a very good reason to join the Larian game. We do not cheat, and we do not kill each other's characters for fun. Everything we do we do as a team. Including quests and getting Exp. I hate it that there are so many hackers on B-Net. They ruin the game for others. I agree with what the team at Blizzard is doing. Ban the CD key forever if caught. It's just the catching thats hard. Their rust control is working to a certain extent, but as soon as they figure out 1 hack, somebody comes up with another one. I don't mind the maphack really, but it is not needed, as I notice there are only about 3 different dungeons generated per lvl. you can always figure out pretty quick which way to go. I personally like shopping and clearing all dungeons for exp.. Why rush it? You just end up with a weaker character in the end. My personal average for BAAL is about lvl 43. Still not Uber, but high enough to go into NM. Carefully...

I would never play with anyone else than Larians. Some people are very hostile in there. As for the cheaters, I think they ruin the spirit of the game and gaming generally. It is a shame that such things happen.
I think that if was multiplayer game those things would never happen.

How can you see that a player is a Larian, or better yet what is a Larian??? Sorry for the stupid questions, but you kind of lost me there.

They mean everybody from this forum. We use to create games called Larian and took a password called Riftrunner. Only those who come on this forum and read the D2 topic would know that password. That way only people from here could join that game.

Hasn't the passworm changed into "beyond divinity" ? Anyway, Merendrious is right. Except the non-registwered readers. We don't know them. But apart from that, theinformation about the game is *very* limited (two threads now with this one ) and so it's quite easy to guess who's who.

The name of the game is "Larian". The password for the game is now "Beyond". We changed the password because the name of our Larians game was changed.
