Greetings, all!
I'd like to see this option in a future version. It's like Ironman mode from other games. In short, the game saves at specific times in specific slots and you can't just save and reload on demand. (Perhaps have a save and quit option.)
Why?
This helps the game feel more like a tabletop game, where one cannot simply reload after every undesired incident. Yes, there's the possibility to do that manually now, but if I have the option to reload away my mistakes, I'm likely to do so.
Note that this would be independent of difficulty. Thus, Hard Campaign Mode is separate from Easy Campaign Mode.

You just gave me idea, we should be able to see in what particular difficulty mode we saved during browsing saves.Especially it will be important when we would try to switch between Hardcore Mode and lower ones

I assume you will not be able to switch between hardcore mode and other difficulty levels. There are changes to enemy placement and composition, so it isn't just a case of scaling a couple values (vitality and chance to hit), like it is with the existing difficulty levels.

Interesting, so combatants will not be where they appeared as usual in an encounter. Will there be more of them? Will there be different foes from vanilla?

There could be more opponents, or changes to some opponents, or just improved AI.

Maybe as an option, but speaking personally, I absolutely hate it when a game will only save at specific checkpoints. A case in point is Bioshock Infinite, which forced players to use that system, something I feel really marred an otherwise excellent game. I think I'd put it right up there with timed missions and escort quests as something that would put me off playing.

Gods yes! Timed missions, escort missions and forced/limited saves only, just suck immensely out loud and continously, I loathe those options, since they are not options they are restrictions.
But I do like the idea of different, more or improved opponents, I also wish they would add some more types of enemies to fight. Heck just Grab the D&D Monster Manual and start adding...probably not gonna happen though!

Also for the reason I've NOT much time to play, so many moments I just play only for ca 15 minutes ... and then save the game ... But with 'specific checkpoints' I'm defenitely forced to play much longer in one time if I want NO lose all I've done ... !
On 7th of february 2015 : I start a new adventure in the Divinity world of Original Sin, it's a Fantastic Freaking Fabulous Funny ... it's my All Time Favorite One !

Maybe as an option, but speaking personally, I absolutely hate it when a game will only save at specific checkpoints... Second/thirded. But there is an alternative... Limit saves by time, e.g. once every 10-20 minutes. Once you save, you can't do so again until the timer expires. That adds a level of tension to the game (since you could face having to replay up to 10-20 minutes if your party perishes) while not limiting players to arbitrary checkpoints. I would say that "campaign mode" would be a real misnomer for an Ironman-style feature though as it implies more of an extended scenario option. Perhaps a name like "Short-Lived Sourcerer"?

I still disagree. It's a decision a person could make for themselves if they so desired, there's nothing to stop them thinking "did I save less than 10 minutes ago? No more saves for me right now, then", but I would feel pretty resentful if such an artificial restriction was inflicted on me. And I still don't really see the point...

The best course of action is to leave it as an option for those who want it.
I, too, am against the mentality of "You have to play it THIS way", but won't impose my desire for freedom of choice over those who want to be restricted.
Unless otherwise specified, just an opinion or simple curiosity.

In addition, Campaign Mode doesn't permit switching difficulty mid-game. Once it's set at the game's start, it's set.
