The recordings shouldn't be effected at all.
Since the player would read the funny message that is replaced with "I'll take my leave" it wouldn't be necessary to have it voice recorded. It would only be a quick end to the conversation where you can move on or the start of a battle.
I know the "I'll take my leave" is alive and well

but there is still enough time to replace the phrase before the combat fights. With regular NPCs and merchants some thing like "Good day sir/ma'am (end conversation)" as back then, there were salutations like that.
If you get a poor enough reputation, then that can be changed with "Away with you peasant, my business with you is now finished."
If your really rotten, "I no longer need you, piss-off!".
If you got as high of a reputation that you can get with an NPC, perhaps "Farewell, have a blessed day!"
