On my 2nd playthough and in Heiberheim there is a boss monster called "The Guardian" that takes way too long to kill. My characters were level 15 (normally your suppose to be 11-12 at this point, but I went to find another way to get into Heiberheim without killing the mushrooms... ended up killing the mushrooms at level 15).

The monster was taking damage from each hit between 5-12. There is no reason for this battle, other then proving a game developer can easily make a boss battle to just piss off the gamer. It took me almost 40 minutes to kill off, I couldn't believe how long it took until I looked at my watch.

One of the big problems was that it liked to walk all over Heiberheim as you fought it.

Every time there I run into trouble on the road, there is always a dwarf at the bottom of it. Don't they know how to drive above ground?

One's choice of weapons can make quite a big difference... some Immaculates you may meet nearby have something interesting. "Interesting" as long as you have tenebrium resistence, though, otherwise "annoying" is a better word.

And it is possible to get in without killing the mushrooms. Maradino knows the answer, etc.

I found Maradino, he was a ghost that attacked me in his hidden lair. His skeletal remains were in the Troll King cave. That is when I killed off the mushrooms.

I remember fighting the ghost on my first play threw, but didn't realize it was Maradino who I was searching for.
