Larian Studios Forums Divinity - Original Sin Divinity - Original Sin - Enhanced Edition GOG and Steam versions not compatible

Up until today my friend (who plays the Steam version) and I (GOG user) cannot join each others' servers anymore. Each time we try to connect to the other it says "Server version incompatible."

Looking at our versions, his steam one updated today it looks like using version 2.0.99.10.

My GoG one is using 2.0.98.842.

I see nowhere on the GoG site to update the game. I even reinstalled it using the GoG Galaxy to no avail and he said he isn't able to revert to a previous update.

Can we get a fix for this please? Pretty lame.

Yeah, I've got the same issue as well, it'd be nice if there was a patch download available so we could upload our GoG version to play with Steam users.

GOG probably doesn't have the patch up yet. Usually takes them a day or two.

My suggestion would be, once the versions are lined up set your steam version to only patch when you launch.

Then in the future launch the game directly from the EXE in the STEAMAPPS/Common/Divinity EE/Shipping folder. Should be called EoCApp.exe. That will prevent the steam version from auto patching and getting ahead of the GOG version.

This of course will only help if you are playing with someone you know.

Also achievements and stuff won't work.
