Larian Studios Forums Divinity - Original Sin Divinity - Original Sin - Enhanced Edition Unable to hire in the hall of heroes

I can not hire a new companion in the Hall of Heroes/ John Smythn... every time I try it takes me out of the splash screen, I dont get to create a new companion, I lose my ui and I cant talk to anyone. i have to reload.

Had this same issue tonight, figured it out- switch from controller to mouse and keyboard- seems to resolve the issue.
