Alright, loving the game so far but I've found an annoying issue.
*SPOILER*
I've got to the part of the campaign where I teleport into the room with the lady in a bath. The tutorial states that for certain conversations, my 'Main Hero' will do the talking.
It selects one of my 2 original hero's but not the one I consider to be my main hero and not the one I've built to do the talking.
I've tried searching online and the only thing I've found are various posts saying it's the hero on the right (when you make them at character generation) who is set as the 'main hero.' The trouble is, the hero which I want to be my main hero WAS the hero on the right. So does anyone (hopefully a dev?) know; 1. How does the game choose who is the main hero? 2. Can I change who is the main hero?

Do you use the pyramid with your talking character?

Do you use the pyramid with your talking character? Thanks for the reply. Yes I did use the pyramid with my main guy but the game still started the conversation with the other character.

You could unchain the non-talker and just have the talky guy use the pyramid. However, you are correct that approach won't work in most cases.

Thanks, that kind of worked but I left all my party in the other zone. I'm sure somewhere in my save game it has marked my secondary character as my 'main hero'. GGGGRRRR, very frustrating! I would simply restart the game if I knew how the game chose the 'main hero' (as per the bloody game tutorial!!!!)

I was always under the impression that "Both" of your characters are the "Main" hero, and that whoever is closest to the NPC at the time the conversation is started (in the case of auto-started dialogues) is the one who is "main" for that conversation.
Otherwise, you could simply kill off one of your characters and leave them dead... or unchain them and leave them standing in town forever..

That's usually true but when you zone or teleport into a new area and a conversation is automatically started, the game will always choose the 'main hero' and that person is the only one who can take part in the conversation. It's even explained that way in the tutorial.

I used a kind of character editor recently ( I was quite bored with starting over and over and over the whole cyseal town just to reach level 3/4 ), which had options to change the stats of "hero 1, hero 2, hero 3, hero 4". It's based directly on memory adresses and stuff to alter the numbers... and I found out that my two characters were constantly switching position. I guess the "main" is whoever was in the upper position when you loaded the save or something like that.

What I wanted to be my main guy was already in the top position but the conversation still went to the girl when we teleported into the room with the lady in a bath. Weird aye. I've restarted the game and made the guy to be on the left and the girl on the right. Maybe that will do it.

That's still weird nonetheless... Maybe it's still 100% random ? In MP, only the player who received the pyramid is teleported, so one would think that the character with the pyramid would be the one to initiate conversation in this particular case.
I totally understand the issue though. I am clearly making one of my char the "social" guy. The other is then free to get things like Know It All and not put a single point in Charisma or whatever. =)

UPDATE: I restarted, making what I wanted as my 'main' guy on the left side in the creation screen (previous tried right hand side as per various posts from pre enhanded ed). This time when I teleported into the room with the lady in a bath, it choose my main guy for the conversation. So either they've changed it to the left for the main hero or perhaps as Dr Koin said, it's random. Anyway, I thought I'd post it, may help someone else and I'm not restarting again!

I remember that being the case in the original, but I specifically tested this for EE, and when I activated the teleporter, it was using whoever I had selected as the person active for the conversation. Now that doesn't rule out it being random, but it does rule out that it's always favoring the 2nd PC like it did before.
