Actually, there IS a "delay turn" option (check your miscellaneous spellbook section). You can only use it if you have not yet taken any action with that character this turn, and it will delay his or her turn until the very end of the current round. The characters next turn will still happen in normal order, so that could result in taking two turns back to back... or dying without taking any turn at all, since it means letting the enemies all have a go before you do.
