Hey fellow Larians!

I bought my friend D:OS for gog as a gift and once she installed it we wanted to play together, me via steam and her via gog, but we couldnt connect via direct connect.
Turns out she got the aforementioned pop-up when hovering over the online options "No online community detected".

My question now of course is: How can we fix this??

What we tried so far:
1. It is not a problem with gog or steam, at least I dont think so, it rather is a problem with her not being connected to the Divinity Servers. I think so because when I start the game while being offline in steam I still am online within Divinity.
2. We manually looked into her firewall settings and went to "Allow a program or feature through windows firewall" and there ticked both network types private and public (it was only set on public) but that didnt work either
3. Her network setup is a public one even though its her family's private one (they set it up as public it seems) could this cause the problem? I dont think so because she allowed firewall access to both network types anyways, right?
4. We installed hamachi and created a network for us there but it didnt fix the problem too, as she still isnt connected to the servers or so it seems.

tl;dr: Friend cant connect to Divinity servers, send help!

I hope there is someone able to help us,
all the best, Hozuki

edit: put in point 4. above

The GOG version only supports Direct Connection and LAN for multiplayer, not the online lobby.
If you had a working virtual LAN using Hamachi then the game should have shown up if the host had their 'LAN Connections' visibility in the Game section of the options enabled, and the client clicked on Join from the main menu and (if required) then the LAN button at the top of the window.
A Direct Connection can also be made there, if the client has the host's IP address or Server ID (which the host can get after starting/loading a game in the Connectivity Menu, available by hitting Esc to bring up a menu or clicking on the diamond icon at the top of the mini-map).
