Larian Studios Forums Divinity - Original Sin Divinity - Original Sin - Technical Issues (EE) No Keeper of Secrets Stat and Ability Books

Aside from when I spoke with her the very first time, the Keeper of Secrets hasn't had her stat and ability point books that I remember from the first game. We're level 16 now and have checked back periodically, but no books ever spawn. Anyone else had this issue? I was hoping it'd be fixed when they fixed the issue with Victoria's book since it was a very similar situation.

I had thought they weren't supposed to respawn - I had only counted on getting one for each character.

They were never supposed to respawn - it was an old bug.

So it seems pretty likely they made sure to fix it for the EE. If they have none ever, that's another issue. Which is it?

A bug? Hmm seems so I can't play the new game.

Without those books I never can win this bossfigths. (I play the easyest mode!) I go to the church in cyseal with a level 12 Party and have problems to win!

Please but the "bug" back in the game in the "easy version". Or is there a cheat to get points?

I don't know how to kill this bosses!
There is a trick to go to the hall of secrets in Level 5. So I have 17x2 Books in the original game to push up the caracters in my game. + the points from the daemon.
With this I win the endgame... sometimes. But without this books? I don't know how to win. "Easy way" should be easy!

BTW: I never can buy the spell "tactical retreat" in the shops of new game. Is this also new feature? Do you cancel this spell?

Yes, they removed Tactical Retreat. I don't know why. I never thought Rangers were overpowered before and I don't think they've added much to them. They also removed the quickdraw talent. And now that grenades are a thing, the niche that rangers filled of applying AOE elemental effects is gone too. Why did they get nerfed so much? Were rangers considered OP? Or did they add new skills to rangers?

I don't understand why the wan't to make the game harder! I like my Ranger, I never like wo use to many spells and I don't think that i ever use grenades...

I like to create those selfmade things, I like to look in everyone's chest's and pockets. But if I need all my Points for spellcasting I can't create things, thats bad.

I found the original game very good balanced. It is not possible to make the easy mode too easy!
If the easy mode ist to easy you can use the normal mode, but what shall I do if the easy mode is to hard?

I do not have pets, my husband plays only cardgames and the three children have moved away.
Maybe I found a cheat somewhere!

I just got to the teller of secrets for the first time (no books bought before) and there are no books in her inventory.
I was so excited to finally be able to buy them =/ what a kick in the nuts.

Please email supportdos@larian.com, with a brief description and the report.zip file (or a Dropbox or Google drive link, etc) generated by the D:OS EE Analysis Tool (for Windows).
Extract the zip file somewhere and run the AnalysisTool.exe. When that loads, browse to the install folder (if it is not automatically detected), optionally run the tests first, and then generate a report (it will be saved in the same location as the Analysis Tool).

The report will contain system and game information, as well as your saved games. To reduce the file size, you can delete most of the saves from the zip; keep one just before opening/entering the hall of secrets.

Console saves can be sent, as well, but they would need to be transferred to a USB flash drive first, and a third party tool is required for drives formatted for Xbox One (see here).
