I want to pick up from an old save and try something different, but I'd like to reset the achievements so they only show what I've actually done to that point. Is there a way to do this?

It's definitely possible to unpack and repack the dv2 files, and I've done that myself on several occasions when I decided to modify some pieces of armour, though I'd probably need to go through some protracted head-scratching to remember how to do it as it's been a long time; but I'm afraid I've no idea how you'd go about modifying achievements as the only things I touched were meshes and textures.

Thanks for the reply Vometia. It sounds as though it would be a complicated procedure, so I think I'll just leave things as they are. It's not important, really - just me liking things to be "just so".

I quite understand that: or in my case, "it should be possible to do this". laugh Unpacking and repacking the DV2 files is reasonably straightforward, I'd just need to dig out the correct tool to do it (not least since the format changed between ED and DKS) but doing anything useful with the contents is less so. I have slightly disturbing memories of cutting and pasting bits of NIF-based meshes between D2's format and Fallout 3's (at least I think that's how I got Blender to read and write stuff, though I also have a vague memory of rewriting a chunk of its NIF import script) and what was worse was finding that textures were also stored as NIFs, which required some contrivance to work with.

I'd hazard a guess that anything that's a more key part of the game may be even nastier to work with, and suspect that a lot of configuration stuff was coded into the executable anyway.
